About Me

Since the release of their first single Keep On Burnin (Lounge Rec.), German-based act The Killergroove Formula have been putting out tune after tune, securing them an almost permanent spot in the German Club Chart Top-40. Outside of Germany, their Breakbeat-House-Freestyle sound is also growing ever more popular. The 12-inch Killergroove Uppercut (MUTO Rec.), released in August 2005, ranked high in a lot of international DJ charts: USA, Argentina, France, Russia, Hungary, Australia the world is catching on to the Killergroove in a big way. Airplay on Annie Nightingales show on BBC Radio One is now even raising eyebrows in the motherland of Breakbeat. Maybe it is because the KGF Crew is not really all that German - Lars Moston, best-known for his records with Malente, is half English. His musical partners are former German pop music star and long-time HipHop and BreakHouse DJ Jens Der Wolf Albert as well as MC NDN, who likes to keep busy as the freestyling frontman of German band Fonky Silence. Next to Circuit Breaker and Boogie Army, The KGF are adding to the growing hype around Breaks from Deutschland. Their latest single "Out Of Money" feat. London MC Master Slim is the first 12-inch to come out after the release of the debut album "Territory: World". As a DJ team, The Killergroove Formula deliver a fast-paced show. Two DJs on four decks firing away with a wild-style Electro-Funk mix-up of the latest club burners, a few old favourites, bootlegs, acapellas and scratches, while NDN takes up the mic and turns the dance-floor into a bunch of friends having a laugh at a rocking private do.

Sounds Like:

Angus Robinson (Money Shot / CAN):: Brilliant mashup of breaks, funk, soul, and rock.: : :

Ante Perry (Moonbootique / Punx : / D):: : amazing mixture of breaks, elektro, MCing and last but not least fun. :

Boogie Army (Carepack / D):: FAT! : :

B-Phreak (FAT!): : massive! It’s unbelievable how the KGF cover such a broad musical spectrum. : :

Darftphunk (Splank / UK):: Album sounds great! :

DJ Prosper (Lab Rok / Funky Cactus / France):: As good as Malente!: :

Drumattic Twins (Finger Lickin / UK):: It's sounding real good... :

Fort Knox Five (USA):: Killergroove Formula is some of the funkiest music in the Universe! With the chunkiest beats and maddest basslines. :

Funkstörung (D): Sounds a bit like Ninja Tune, DJ Food or Chemical Bros in parts. This is all great club-fodder, will surely drop a couple of these in my DJ sets. : :

Groove Allegiance (Splank! Rec / UK):: This album fucking kills, has the potential to cross over big time, just so many dancefloor smashers on here. :

Jash (CCT Rec. / UK):: Some great dance floor tracks and some possibly even better more laid back tracks. With great production and with a touch of humour as well possibly something lacking in the breaks scene of late. This is certainly an act to watch they will go on to do great things. :

Mael Strom (Labrok: / Jalapeno / Rotax):: One of the : best breaks albums of the year.: :

Malente (Unique / Moonbootique / Splank! / D):: Rockin’ Funkbreaks!: : :

Mama Miche (NSB Radio / CAN):: The album is awesome and I love it - a lot. :

Ninelives the Cat (West Rec. / UK):: Top energy and creativity, well into it :

Philipe de Boyar (Hammarskjoeld / Erase Records / Rockville Music / CH):: The perfect mix of HipHop, Breakbeats and Electro-House.: :

Smalltown DJs (Bigfoot Rec. / CAN):: A sure thing out in Canada. The whole album is good for the floor.: :

Strider (Splank! / Control Breaks / UK):: One of the best things I've heard in ages. Original and unpredictable from start to finish... The album has been stuck on repeat on my ipod for weeks, quality shizzle - : constantly changing direction and not sticking to the rulebook...ace stuff! :

Ursula 1000 (ESL / USA):: Muscular-fist pumping-body shocking-breaks rocking madness: :
