Boogie Army aka Marten Hörger and Captain Koma… these guys are DJs for the people!
Always avoiding purist bulls**t and throwing in all sorts of party-starting elements from Electro, HipHop and of course Breaks, the Duo aims for one thing only: making the crowd maaad! And this is true for their DJ sets as well as for their own productions and remixes. Roof-raising Boogie Army singles have appeared on Carepack Rec, Genepoole Rec. and on Dub Pistols frontman Barry Ashworth’s imprint Westway – “Busta/Hypercrank”, “Are You Party/Inside the Ride” and “Start the Engine” were each crowned record of the month in DJ Mag and Germany..s Raveline Magazine, earning the duo remix work for the likes of Malente, Leeroy Thornhill, The Killergroove Formula, Trick & Cubik and Taishan. Their latest single “Sex, Drugs, Rock ‘n’ Roll” reached number one on trackitdown, was in the top ten overall at djdownload and a big favourite with the worlds breaks/electro scene including Radio Stations like Kiss Fm and Radio One. This led to being dubbed no less than “the next Level of Breakbeat” in DJ Mag.
Boogie Army have been hosting their own events for eight years now, making theirs the longest running Breaks nights in Germany. They have toured with Krafty Kuts, Dub Pistols and Leeroy Thornhill, played gigs from Ibiza to Siberia, London to Liechtenstein and they have rocked massive events like Love Parade, Streetparade Zürich and the infamous Kazantip Festival. From 10 to 10000 people, Boogie Army have done it all - and always gone for it like that party was the last.
