Ya Rayah, means 'The Traveller' and comes from the arabic song 'Ya Rayah' of Abderrahmane Amrani, someone knows better his 1970's track by his alias Dahmane El Harrachi or the 1998's Rachid Taha version.
Also a few remixes were made by Radar, Sonar, Bi Polar, DJ Badre (Rahih), Shantel & The Bucovina Club (Balkan Mix), Malik Adouane (Funky Version), DJ Nader and DJ Soufiane (Trance Techno Remix).
Some other versions of 'Ya Rayah' i know from: Latif El Idrissi, Orchestre Andalou d'Israel, Mo'Rockin, Chico & The Gypsies (Nomade Ya Rayah), Cheb Kamir, Enrico Macias (Live), Felix Bouhnik, Sahbi Amara Quartett (Live), Abdelkader Saadoun, Banda Comunale & Nassima (both are Instrumental), Lynda Thalie (Live), George Dalaras & Goran Bregovic (What If I Want You/Ki an se thelo), The Original Kocani Orkestar (Agonija), Gareth Gates feat. The Kumars, Acher El Maghrib, Gipsy Kali, Alabina, Mohamed El Marrakchi, Ciganos d'Ouro (version portuguaise), Chansons Du Soleil, UM Pop Kings and Salaam (Instrumental). And also the legendary live version with Rachid Taha, Khaled and Faudel from the album '1, 2, 3 Soleils' and Rachid Taha's live version from brussel 2001 with an strong electronic beat.

I've also seen an bollywood-video with 'Ya Rayah' in hindi (Kaali naagin jaisi) music by Darshan & Sanjeev Rathod & lyrics by Sameer, singer are Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishnamurti from the film 'Mann'.

I want to realize an one-track-compilation of different versions or remixes of 'Ya Rayah'.
I'm german and no muslim, my real name is Björn Maletz, i've choose the dj-name 'Ya Rayah', because i want to show that my music taste travels around the world, but mainly between the orient and okzident. I don't play oriental style only, also balkan beats and indian sounds and sometimes european, latin or lounge (chill out, dub, electro, ...).
