The International Disability Coalition is a non profit*, volunteer organization that helps disabled people. Our main focus is raising funds to further research into spinal cord injury, specifically Transverse Myelitis. However, we also help disabled people and their families by teaming those people with volunteers, sponsors, donations of medical equipment and other services.

My feelings toward the world around me can be summarized by the song "Someday at Christmas" by Stevie Wonder:

I'm a writer, Poet and artist. Some of the graphics on this page are in fact my own. I've always dabbled in art, and I've always pursued literary; and human and animal rights' interests.
I'm a peace and freedom-loving individual, and don't like to be smothered by injustice.
One of the greatest challenges of my life was proving neurologists wrong, defeating disability and by getting myself out of a wheelchair.
Being told that I had Transverse Myelitis (often called "TM"), and to "...get used to the wheelchair..." I decided that I either had to give in to my disability or overcome it.
Since that time, I've devoted most of my life to work, pursuing my artistic dreams, guiding my teenage kids, my surrogate children (my dogs) and embracing life with a grain of salt.
My mom and dad were a driving inspiration in my life, and since the death of my dad this past October, I've learned to accept that fate is the consequence of life and the best that we can do as Human beings is to live the experience, love the experience and grow from the experience until we, too, have come to pass.
Like all things in life, there is a time, a season and a purpose for here on Earth and in Heaven. The value of our life depends on the footprints which we leave behind.

Icicle comas suspended in space
Like mystical teardrops, fallen from grace
Enchanted by illusion of historical planes
Holding onto tonight, as we grasp life's reigns
Pleading with temptation, as a gnome, at play
Entranced by passion and plans that we've made
Oh, but to wander and stand in delay
Embarking on tomorrow and prices we've paid
Light that dims in echoing chorus
Shimmers through ice like wind in dark forests
Show me kaliedoscopes, fanning life's flame
And I'll show you a rainbow that dances in vain
Only to be remembered by solace and beauty
Mere seconds evolved through clouds of lucidity
Calm and awakening as waves rush to shore
Crashing in violence upon life's door
Knocking and piercing still hearts that cry
"Wake up, breathe light!" It screams, "Take flight!"
And to discover sweet life, within our core
In solitude, we pray for an open door
Another icicle coma, suspended in space

Ceasing life's clenches, as stone in calm streams
Penetrating resistance in silent mirages, we call dreams
