About Me

I like to play great music with great folks, especially with great vocalists. My blog tells who I've worked with locally. The player contains some tracks I've done, and the audio and video links section has streaming video and audio tracks. If you go to the friends section, access the Circus Of Saints, Jadeskyy, PDFOP, or Collage sites to hear some tracks I've done. Or, open wWW.thedrumnetwork.ning.com/profile/NickCosta; there's another player there with several other items on it... .. .. ..

My Interests

Music, current events, history, languages, foreign policy, well written books and movies, bicycling, travel, English humor (Goon Show, Monty Python, Black Adder, etc.), Garrison Keillor's work, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Kindred spirits. Folks with a sense of humor, who think quickly, clearly, and creatively, and have their Inner Diva well under control.

Music:

I believe there's good and bad music. I strive to not make, nor endure, the latter.

Movies:

Not in any lately.

Television:

History channel, BBC America, sometimes Sci Fi.

Books:

Historical and sci fi themes, or interesting bios of substantive folks, tend to catch my interest. I like Joan Hess, William Gibson,Neal Stephenson, Walid Phares, Asimov, Michener, Frank Herbert and son, among others.

Heroes:

Folks who push the envelope (in a good way). Folks who do the most they can with what they have, leave things better than they found them, and inspire others to do likewise. Folks who don't flake out.
