Craig Alston

I'm an multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Baltimore.I attended Morgan Sate University as an music education major,but learned I really wanted to become a jazz musician.I'm currently the saxophonist for band a called Fertile Ground.Fertile Ground has traveled world over sharing it's unique blend of jazz,soul and world music.While being part of Fertile Ground I stay busy with the Craig Alston Group and as leader of The Eubie Blake Big Band.I'm also the instrumental music teacher /musical Director for the Maryland summer center gifted and talented music program.While doing all of that I still find time to record and perform with as many artist as I can.I've recorded with some notable performers such as:David Murray,Oliver Lake,John Hicks,Julie Dexter,Basement boys,Dj Spen and Lafayette Gilchrest.I also can be heard on Deborah Bonds CD entitled DayAfter playing a sax solo on the song A Message(track2).I'm on the last three Fertile Ground recordings and countless remixes worldwide.I currently working on and completing the finishing touches on my first album which is going to be a live jazz record.
