About Me

~ socially inept ~ synaptically challenged ~ giggly ~ naked ~
na*ked [ney-kid], 1. plain-spoken; blunt: the NAKED truth: 2. without the customary covering, container, or protection: a NAKED sword; a NAKED flame: 3. without carpet.
Naked Poetry is not the expression of sentiment but the transparency of craft in articulating an aspect of the human condition to evoke emotion from the reader.
I've published poetry under the pen name R. L. Maddera in Blacklisted Magazine, Los Angeles, CA and In Between Hangovers, United Kingdom, but am strangely disinterested in publishing my poetry unless someone asks for it. I am more concerned with the construction of poetry as a genre. I do have four novellas in the works at various stages of development: sci-fi, fantasy, gore and personal memoir. I'm also working with two writers on editing various projects. Novellas, critical theory and editing are where my passion lay and my grad school applications are in the works...
Otherwise, I'm 38, going on 12 and all about 8th grade push and shove. Ideally I just want to live life as naked as possible, and go out with a bloody fucking bang.

My Interests

fans in summer instead of A/C, acquiring tattoos and piercings as necessary, FIRE, knowing who I am and what I want, sincerity, the distraction of SHINY things, living naked and real, lazyassedness, good WRITING, bad spelling, innuendos and double entendres, OXYMORONS, snickering, blogging, GROWing, STALKing, LURKing, knowledge, the logic and rationale of emotion, emergent ENERGIES, education reform, half-assed recycling and a poor attempt at boycotting consumerism, social economics, power tools and HOME repair, backPACKing, hiking, (sea)kayaking, cooking, reading: scifi, vamp/gore, classics, non-fiction and (auto)biographies, jigsaw puzzles, burnin' shit, SUN, light, shadow, retaining some semblance of naivety so as not to become jaded, mumbling DRUNK half truths in poor Japanese, laughing HARD enough to squirt liquids out my nose, martial arts flicks, RPG, talkin' smack to get laughs, hot guys in DRAG, pictures in sepia, and the TRUTH...
