Living? Sarah Moon. Peter Gabriel. Who else? People who are interested in living bravely, vibrantly, and excitedly. People who can laugh, have an intense conversation, and would like an exchange. Those who are honest with themselves and others. Those capable of truly being a friend.Dead? Ruth Bernhard. Alfred Stieglitz. Anais Nin.
My tastes are pretty eclectic. However, I'll always love Concrete Blonde, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Oingo Boingo, Billie Holiday, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, the Dresden Dolls, Voltaire, Social Distortion, Elvis Costello, and Sondheim's "Into the Woods."
Zombie movies, bad or better :) Spinal Tap is awesome. I watch lots of movies in all genres. Although anything post-apocolyptic or sci-fi will always be my first choice.
I'm a total sci-fi dork. Star Trek (any of 'em), Stargate SG1, Battlestar Galactica. My guilty pleasure is Lost.
Rand's The Fountainhead, Sartre's No Exit, Gaimen's Neverwhere, Nabakov's Lolita, Chappell's "Narcissus and Echo," Chuck Palanhiuk, Anais Nin, Alduous Huxley...so many, many more. I follow Kirkman's The Walking Dead series. Shel Silverstein. I adore fairy tales--specifically the dark ones. I recently read Blindness by Jose Saramago--brilliant! I am now involved in a new book club, so I'm expecting that I'll be introduced to many new authors.
I am amazed by my husband William. He always inspires and surprises me. He's a definite hero to me. Ruth Bernhard because she lived her life according to her own rules, lived in the moment, and always believed in magic. Shel Silverstein is my hero. His books dare children to imagine, to dream, and to challenge what they are told.
