i listen to just about everything. but i love john prine, and singer-song writers like lucinda williams, geoff muldar, arlo & woody guthrie, mississippi john hurt etc. i also love latin music, the more traditional sounds as well as the newer interpretations of the old sounds, i love KDHX!!!! i like a lot of older stuff really - thanks to my papa... like sam cooke, solomon burke, war, al green, aretha, the persuasions, van morrison, ottis redding, curtis mayfield, the meters, toots and the maytals, irma thomas, ike and tina - together and seperate thank you very much! i also really like modest mouse, radio head, the strokes, kings of leon, lauren hill, erikah badu, outkast, goody mob, dmx(in the right mood), deangelo, ben harper, jack johnson, rL burnside, kebmo, flaming lips. Lately i have been listening to sean hayes, regina specktor, bobbie bare jr and then on the flip - mos def, the new danger, and st. louis's very own Nite Owl- check him out whenever you can - and roisin murphy...
amelie, frida, city of lost children, y tu mama tambien (hot,hot, HOT), sex and lucia (even hotter), tea with mussalini(i totally mispelled that), life is beautiful, pulp fiction, casino, resevoir dogs, true romance, love and a 45... i have a thing for foriegn films and mob movies, what a strange mix. four rooms is fucking great! I rarely like "chic flicks" although a few good chics and a box of wine and a cheesy movie is a damn good night! (Right Brenda and Sarah!) anyway, pirates of the carribean and frida are the two that i could watch over and over, and i do, tehehehe. oh yeah i can't do scary - Zombie yes but psycho-thriller absolutely not! most recently...my life in pink (its about a little boy that is convinced that he is a little girl) very good!
don't have it... don'y really miss it. i rent stuff that comes highly recommended by those whom i trust to know the difference between entertainment and crap. right now i'm starting in on the 6 feet under - from the beginning! lovin' it!
jitterbug perfume, still life with woodpecker - tom robbins is amazing. daughter of fortune, yellow raft in blue water, black like me, littel alters everywhere and the divine sercrets of the ya ya sisterhood, i also really like nick hornby, i like reading short stories A LOT! just read a book that my lovely sister passed onto me - The Summer of Ordinary Ways, a memior by Nicole Lea Helget...holy shit was it powerful, fucked up in all ways beautiful.
