DJ DL is constantly on the hunt for creative outlets to further musical growth and understanding. Having been exposed to all forms of music from day dot musical expression has always been DL's passion.
Playing keys, trumpet and dabbling on the drums were just the start of a non-stop journey into wanting to play and make music.
On the production front DL has, along with three others, formed a production outfit called R.E.D.S. (Retro, Essence, DL & Subtrak) - with an impeccable work ethic the group are hard at work in the studio.

Having played alongside many top artists, like Andy C, TC1, Baron, Flight, Ratpack, Mickey Finn, Pendulum, Clipz, Twisted Individual, Ray Keith, Teebee and of course Leed's very own dubplate kid DJ Steppa, DL is not one to shy away from the opportunity to get a crowd bouncing like no other.
On top of this accolade, and as well as playing at nights such as Champion Sounds and LockDown over the last few years, and regularly guesting on LSRfm, DL has played, as one of two resident DJs (alongside DJ Essence) at a night that extremely rapidly became the leading figure in the Leed's, and in fact the country's, Drum & Bass scene - Transmission.
As an offshoot of the mighty Subdub, at which DL has also played on several occasions, Transmission's reputation was quickly cemented.
Having been one of the original DJs to play on Frequency88.1FM in Leeds from the very first weekend on air in 2006 DL has also gained invaluable experience on radio which he hopes to continue long into the future.
Having entered many competitions in the early stages of his djing journey DL started out by making it to the north regional finals of the Daily Telegraph Denon DJ competition - however, not content with this achievement he went on to reach the last 6 in the country in the Drum&BassArena DJ competition (under the old name of DJ Me) which culminated in a final at the End club in London.
On top of this DL & Subtrak recently won another Drum&BassArena DJ competition which resulted in a set at the Download store Launch Party at Ministry of Sound.
Since moving back to London DL has not only been hard at work in the studio but can now also be heard playing on ORIGIN 95.1FM every tuesday from 6-8pm alongside partner in crime DJ Subtrak playing their usual unique and varied styles.
Always looking to create something inimitable - styles are constantly getting switched and changed so as to always keep things as fresh and unexpected as possible.
