Jookie's interest in music began with his parents playing dancehall, dub, reggae and other types around yard when he was a child, his parents diverse nationalities (mother jamaican, father welsh) led to him growing listening to a wide range of music-but as he grew older his main musical loves were dancehall, with deejays like bounty killer, supercat, vybz kartel and ninjaman being his main influences, and jungle, with mc's topcat, spyda, trigga and bassman being his favourites. When Jookie started emceeing, the ragga influence could be clearly heard, reflecting his musical tastes. Jookie has touched down on Frontline fm, Ice Cold fm, Blaze-Live, and Heated fm down in London, but has now moved up to leeds and plans to mash up the airwaves and dances "oop north" .outside of drum and bass im an amateur boxer, coming second in the 2005 BUSA championships, im into cooking west indian food, the gym, watching films and goin out drinking with my mates.
