About Me

Here's what people say about me:

ANTONIO FORCIONE (NAIM Records):

"Marco, A Big thanks for giving a great engineering performance the other day during our gig in Aldeburgh. My band and myself were all enjoying the quality of the sound. ..Really made a difference...I had a great feed back from the audience during the CD signing. Our music and your live mixing made the full house really rock "in the best possible acoustic way..! Hope to have you with us again soon.."

GARY DUNNE (Honest Records):

"Marco is one of the most professional and passionate people that I've =worked with. He works from a deep love of the music and this feeds into the high quality of projects that he produces"

"Over the years, I have experienced differents studio sessions with differents producers, some good, and some not so good, and, to me, Marco's skill as a record producer rank among the very best. No question about his sound engineering skill but what make him truly special are his producing skills... Allowing you to be true to yourself, positive dialogue always bring the best out of the session... A joy to work with " Laurent Mouflier - Blues harp player

Hello and welcome to my space. I'm a record producer and musician based in London. Here's a brief list of works I've been involved in:
•1994: started my former band "MOTHER OF PEARL". I played guitar in it as well as co-writing the music and dealing with production. With that band I had a long experience on the road touring Italy, Germany, UK, Ireland and the USA. The band split up in 2004. You can buy an EP on CDBaby.com and Itunes Music Store.
•1996: started my engineering training in the biggest studio in my town (STUDIO M).
•1997: signed to "LA BIONDA" publishing in Italy, Mother of Pearl began to record at LOGIC STUDIOS in Milan, with FABRIZIO SIMONCIONI as a producer.
•1998: the band moved to London. We recorded our first demo EP at MATRIX (MAISON ROUGE) studio, produced by Nick Tauber. We then released our first EP ("Mother of Pearl") produced and recorded by Gez Prior at RIVER AUDIO STUDIO, and a second one ("Volume") produced and recorded by Julie Gardner at RIDGE FARM STUDIO, mixed by Julie at LOCO STUDIO.
•1999-2000: I studied SOUND RECORDING AND MUSIC TECHNOLOGY at the ISLINGTON MUSIC WORKSHOP in London, achieving a full RSA/OCR Diploma.
•2000: I started my freelance engineering career as well as playing in the band and extensively touring.
•2000: I mixed a single for Nancy Wilson at METROPOLIS STUDIOS in London.
•2001: I began teaching in the same College (I've historically been the first ever student to be allowed to teach there!).
•2001: I did several guitar sessions for Kevin Kennedy and The Dooby Brothers.
•2002: I played live guitars for DECCA (UNIVERSAL) RECORDS with opera singer RUSSELL WATSON, for his TV & Radio promotional tour.
•2003: I was chief engineer for the recording of the BULGARIAN PHILARMONIC ORCHESTRA at SIF309 STUDIO in Sofia, for Taiwanese label "Voice of Gange Records".
•2000-2004: I was involved in many mixing, recording and producing freelance activities with several artists.
•2004-2005: after the band split up I started freelancing as a co-producer, recording engineer and mixing engineer at SPHERE STUDIOS, London, where I had the chance to work with mega producer CHRIS KIMSEY and DURAN DURAN among others.
•2004: I took care of some pre-production, Pro Tools engineering and additional recordings (Jenny Adejayan's cello on one track) on ANTONIO FORCIONE's album "Tears of Joy" for NAIM Records, even though I only appear in the "Thanks" credits of the album.
•2005: I played all guitars for the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK (composed by GUY FARLEY) of the film "L'uomo che amava le aquile" ("The man who loved eagles"), produced by Italian National Television RAI. Recorded at SPHERE STUDIOS, London.
•2005: I bought my first (and only!) flat in London!
•2007: from January to March I've toured with singer jamie Pearce (Cent Records) for his debut album promotional tour.
•2007: The track "MOST HIGH" features my guitars. It came out from the collaboration between DATI, GENERAL LEVY and myself. Powerful breakbeats! You can have a listen to it on Dati or General Levy myspace pages.
•2007: I've mastered the last album of Snow Cycle, a Canadian modern jazz band.
•2008: I've mastered the last album of Irish singer songwriter Gary Dunne for Honest Records.
•2008: I've joined the Gary Dune and The Angry Italians band as a Guitar Player and Artistic Director. Rehearsing preparing the new album tour.
•2008: Just finished my training @ Alchemea School of Audio Engineering in London to become a qualified Digidesign Pro Tools Expert and Expert Trainer.
•2008: I'm officially the Antonio Forcione Quartet, Duo and Solo 2008 Tour Manager and Sound Engineer.
I'm mostly fond of MIXING, MASTERING AND PLAYING GUITAR. I'VE LEARNT MY MIXING SKILLS ON SSL E, G+ AND J SERIES AS WELL AS ON PRO TOOLS HD AND LOGIC AUDIO SYSTEMS. I'VE LEARNT MY GUITAR SKILLS STUDYING CLASSICAL GUITAR, ELECTRIC MODERN GUITAR AND BEING ON THE ROAD AND IN/OUT STUDIOS FOR FIFTEEN YEARS!
•I am a qualified DIGIDESIGN PRO TOOLS MUSIC OPERATOR.
That's it. In another life I was a sport sailor (I still am a very good sailor...actually!!!) and a...solicitor (believe it or not...). But that was pre new millennium...
At the moment these are my main activities:
• I'm playing guitar, percussion and backing vocals with Gary Dunne and The Angry Italians.
• I'm playing guitar with Nathalie Miranda.
• I'm mixing Tallulah Rendall's new album.
• I'm mastering several albums (the last one has been Gary Dunne's one).
• I'm teaching Pro Tools @ Alchemea College of Audio Engineering in London.
• I'm sound engineering and tour managing Antonio Forcione and his Quartet.
• I'm sound engineering The Hit Sheet showcases for BMI @ The Cobden Club in London.
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Please do take some time to watch this documentary. It is not about me. It is about you. It has got Italian subtitles but it's commented in English.
