About Me

CLICK HERE TO GET A PRE-MADE MYSPACE LAYOUTLife is pretty great - every day I get to go to work with the privilege of assisting deserving musicians, songwriters and artists in the pursuit of their dreams of making an impact in the music business – however you define that impact. Not that it’s not one of the most frustrating experiences these talented souls and I will go through, but when one of my clients or friends gets the opportunity that they have sought for so many years or they make a positive impact on other people – well, it makes the experience worthwhile.I came to Nashville about sixteen years ago to tip my toe in the entertainment law arena and I am glad to say that I am still here and still helping people pursue their dreams. I guess in doing that I am pursuing my own dream – helping others achieve their goals. Unfortunately, as my clients would likely agree, it’s rarely an easy path that people go down when pursuing a dream. The law thing is a tough business – the necessity for straight forward truth-talk doesn’t always fit well with the tender balance between lawyer and client. Fortunately or unfortunately I don’t know any other way. Better for clients to know on the front end what the obstacles are than for them to toil for years on the wrong aspects of their career.Of course, there is no science to the pursuit of a dream – the key, invariably, is hard work. The deal I have with my clients is that I will work as hard for them as they work for themselves. From my perspective, there is nothing more frustrating than seeing an artist’s team work harder than the act is actually working – it doesn’t bode well for long term success. My biggest thrill is getting to work with such a talented group of individuals – truly gifted people who I have seen touch other people with the strum of a guitar, the words from a song or the empathetic voice of a soulmate. Some of these people have sold a hundred million records and some may never sell a hundred – in their own ways their respective impacts are just as great because they each touch people in a special way. That's what makes my own job so great. So long as there are talented people out there, I hope to have the opportunity to help my small number of them get down the right path.Good luck to all of you pursuing that elusive dream – remember that the journey is a marathon, not a sprint – take the time to enjoy the road though do so without running off of it. Hope to see you at the finish line!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

James Taylor and Michael Jordan - that should complete the circle.

Television:

I thought about writing something socially redeeming like how televsion is the bane of our existence - instead I will list my favs: Lost, Desperate Housewives and, of course, Greys Anatomy mixed in with lots of reruns of Twilight Zone aand MASH.

Heroes:

All the people that get up every day and strive to reach their own personal goals and dreams - and especially those who can do it with a smile on their face and without stepping on other people along the way.
