D. Scott Miller is a hit songwriter, record producer, music publisher, record executive and a multi-talented musician who is proficient on the guitar, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, bass and piano. D. Scott is a native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, he cultivated his background working as a writer and producer for some of the industry’s most successful publishing companies. He began his career working with MCA/Good Sport Publishing, and later entered into joint ventures with EMI and Famous Ensign, and then began his own production company, D. Scott Miller Productions. As a writer, D. Scott’s success stories include cuts by top country and R&B music artists including Trace Adkins, Patty Loveless and Asleep at the Wheel. With hits recorded by Mark Chesnutt, Delbert McClinton, Amanda Stott, The Blue Boys and Patricia Conroy and Beverly Mitchell. In addition, he’s scored recognition for his songs, for a variety of television shows and made-for-television movies and feature films, including 7th Heaven, Laguna Beach, Vega$, A Man Called Hawk, A Tribute To Minnie Pearl, MTV Road Rules, Nashville Now, Prime Time Country, Crook and Chase, American Magazine, The Road, MTV,CMT,GAC,VH1 and In Country. D. Scott has catalogs represented by MCA (ASCAP), EMI/Tower Street (BMI), Famous/Ensign Music/Bear Waller (BMI), Baker Billy Music (BMI), and Magic Mustang Music Inc. / Freeballin Songs (BMI). As a musician, D. Scott has performed and recorded with some of Nashville’s finest players and renowned artists including John Jorgensen, Billy Joe Walker Jr., Victor Wooten, Paul Leim, Guy Clark, Vasser Clements, Randy Bachman, Darryl Scott, Malcolm Holcolmbe, George McCorkle and Jelly Roll Johnson. He is credited as producer for projects recorded by Brothers of the Southland (Jimmy Hall, Henry Paul, Bo Bice, Steve Gorman, Dan Toler, Steve Grisham, Mike Brignardello), Beverley Mitchell, John Corbett, Nikki Cleary, Joni Harms, Elbert West, Craig Morgan, Renegades of Southern Rock, Joanie Keller, Chad Brock, Jonell Mosser (with John Haitt, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, Delbert McClinton, Amy Rigby, Jimmy Hall, Al Anderson, Victor Wooten), Mike McClure, The Annie Mosses Band, Mammoth Jack, Iron Horse and Waiting For December, Shanna Crooks and Kristen McNamera among numerous others. He has worked for and along side some the industry’s best including Chuck Howard, James Stroud, Irwin Robinson, Rush Hicks, Gary Overton, Pat Finch, Dave Loggins, Randy Goodrum and the legendary Jimmy Bowen(Capitol/Liberty/Patriot Records). In 2000 D. Scott was hired by Broken Bow Records as Sr. Ex. V.P. and began assembling the new label along with BBR owner Benny Brown. Over the next several years he was instrumental in securing major distribution, building an in house radio promotion staff and signing artists that would soon be turning out hits. In 2003 D. Scott was tapped to head the new Independent rock Label RockUs Records an imprint of BBR and was responsible for overseeing all of the label’s creative endeavors. D. Scott returned to Music Row writing and producing records for numerous labels and artists. D. Scott is an active member of the Nashville Association of Musicians Local 257, AFM, CMA, NARAS and the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
