Hi... I'm a guitarist living in London... I'm 23, I am Indian but I grew up in Dubai and studied in England. I am mostly self-taught although I learned much from my older brothers and friends. Throughout my life i have loved so many different musics... I was blasted by rock by my mother since birth and over the more recent years I have fallen in love with Classical music, Indian Classical music, Jazz, Flamenco... and much more. I never studied any of these styles of music but i know that they all have an effect on my playing and writing... I love music with raw expression through whatever means. I feel that if something is beautiful it is often unimportant why or how or where it is from. If one is always trying to understand something they often miss the beauty of it.
Over the last few years I have composed music for three plays by "Lorca", one of which toured Madrid, London and Edinburgh and have played at the 2006 BBC Electric Proms and on Bafta Nominated BBC 2 documentary "Power of Art", BBC 1 Radio Live, BBC radio 3, etc and sessioned for the award winning Hip Hop group Foreign Beggars , the critically acclaimed Niraj Chag "Along the Dusty Road" (iTunes single of the week), The Abhorred amongst several others.
At the moment I'm working on several projects. One is called Solenca with the excellent singer Claudia Kennaugh, P Dizzly and Raphael White ... We recently finished recording our debut album "The Naked Elephant".
Another project I am currently playing with is Niraj Chag's new project, the live rendition of "Along the Dusty Road". We have just started doing live shows and recently won the 2006 "Best Underground Act" at the AMA 2006.
Recently i have joined Nathan "Flutebox" Lee's live project and have started performing, we are playing many festivals over the summer including WOMAD UK, Glastonbury and many others.
I was recently working for singer Karen David as part of her live band and have recorded on her latest EP "Magic Carpet Ride".
This year I have been rearranging old compositions and writing some new ones to start a very personal project, I hope to have something ready in the near future.
I am also working with ARK Schools in London as a Young Music Motivator and Artist in Residence at a couple of schools.
