About Me
Teymour Housego grew up in New Delhi where he learnt the bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) under Shri Prakash Saxena and graduated from the Gandharva Mahavidyala music conservatoire in 1996 with the highest score in his year. He later studied with preeminent Indian flautist Pandit Ronu Majumdar in Bombay, for which he received a grant from the Liverpool-based organisation Milapfest. He is also an accomplished Western flautist and studied jazz in Paris. He is a co-founder of flamenco fusion band Alcazaba whose debut album is due to be released later this year.
Teymour has also played and/or recorded with Jethro Tull, Nitin Sawhney, Niraj Chag, the Bombay Dub Orchestra, Earthtribe, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Michael Jackson, Rishi Rich, Jay Sean, Juggy D, Kuljit Bhamra, Mehboob Nadeem, Shivanova, Karen David, and Peter Gabriel's Real World Productions and has performed in concert halls, clubs and festivals across Europe, as well as on BBC radio and television.
