Were Spookey an all girl three piece band from Hamamatsu, Japan. We play bubblegum-garage-power-pop-punk. Weve toured the U.K. six times already with our friends Random Heroes, The Priscillas and Ass Rockets . We've been lucky enough to play shows with The Briefs, The Peacocks, and The Damned.
We just finished our sixth U.K./Europe tour in October 2007. It was a great sucess and we'll be back in February '08 (dates will appear below soon) with more shows in the U.K. and Europe. While we were in the U.K. last tour we recorded a new four track CDEP 'Cheeky Girl' which is out now (See below).
We'd also like to play other parts of Europe and the U.S. too so please get in touch if you can help.

Here's some reviews of our album-
PunkNewsUK
Spookey,
Spookey Cat
The Japanese have a (often deserved) reputation of attempting to re-package 30 years of Western rock'n'roll and sell it back to us, but hell, this one REALLY works. Probably because the Spookey gals don't TRY, it just comes natural to 'em.
Incendiary tunes, equal parts Ronettes (make that Shangri-Las, they were a
proper street gang), Ramones and Link Wray..... if this album were a person,
it'd skank alongside a pogoing (ask yer Grandad) best-mate with a quiff.
It flits from punk-ya-can-whistle through rockabilly, sideswerving some
likeable ska and taking in a proper punkrock rumble on the way home.
Above all, it's totally 100% UPLIFTING. Guaranteed to make even the most
sullen emo kid smile, but not so sugary as to have purists like me, Ged and
Mistah Vinson choking in our beer.
'Sunday' kicks off with the most rabid Heartbreakers riff I've heard in years, hell the whole album spits, skanks and kicks, but with a velvet glove grabbing your heartstrings.
Don't mistake this for "ka-wa-ee" or "ka-wa-ii" intentionally cute-ass
Japanese girl fodder, this IS proper fucking punkrock'n'roll.
No, it ain't 'London Calling' or 'Punk in Drublic', but this IS probably the
most mind-searingly refreshing album you'll hear this year, AND every time
you NEED to party, you'll return to it. Spookey girls rock! :-)

Who are they? Japanese all girl punk band, featuring Mayumi on guitar and vocals, Minako on bass and vocals and Misaki on drums and vocals. OK, I know that's not the sort of thing we review at HangNine, but we really like them, and no one can stop us!
What's good? They look great, they play really well and the songs are great. Magnificent punk/pop anthems with huge tunes and catchy lyrics (well, OK, catchy BITS of lyrics, which is pretty much all anyone needs). Every song is a winner, but Go!! Go!! 1, SUNDAY, Driving, Spookey Cat and Wedding March get procedings off to as brilliant start as almost any album I can name. On top of this, Spookey are a great live act; I can barely remember seeing a band have as much fun on stage as they did in Brighton recently.
What's bad? You're kidding, right? Just now, Spookey are my favourite band in the world.
HangNine Rating: A.F.B (Absolutely Fucking Brilliant)

Imagine the munchkins rockin out but GOOD! What is an unlikely concept is instantly appealing; three Japanese girls hold their own with a record that showcases their accomplished punk-infused hooks, celebrates their rockabilly, singalong tendencies and entertains with their understanding of what makes rock n roll really rock. Spookey dont take themselves too seriously, and the music is all the better for it, with not even a whiff of emo about them. Their childlike voices are a surprising complement to this garage rock triumph. 4.5 stars out of 5
