End the war NOW.

About Me

Life began in Queens, NY at 12:29 am Nov. 1, 1965>New Rochelle> Great Neck>Fire Island> The Catskills> Manhattan> UNIS WAGNER BRONX SCIENCE CITY AS YEAR OFF WORK/LIVE DOWNTOWN, BARD, HUNTER, LIVING IN BKLYN, WORKING AT STR while attending HUNTER COLLEGE> LAUSANNE>NYC 1988. Then I met: Alison Mayer, Steve Blush and Carlo McCormick we were all working at Jon Sidel's UNDOCHINE 'til that was shut down because of missing CABARET LICENSE. So, Al, Blush Carlo and I, we made a Lite Lounge, Monday Nites at Carmelita's (NYC, 14th Street & Third Avenue above Disco Donut (1988-90) Blush played the sickest arrangement of music and so many people had a TRUE BLAST--not the powdery kind;) WE DANCED THE NITE AWAY...got Lotsa notoriety (good press), booked James Chance who had not played live in YEARS, threw parties for Gerard Malanga and lent party to Robert Longo...Malcolm Forbes went there regularly--the scene was adorable TON LOC guest DJ'd so did Towah and Dimitri from DEE LITE... After the building of Carmelita's was shut down (de Lorenzo-Happylands connection) "concepting" live music nites for rest/club owners became my specialty- SO WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS I CAN RAISE THE DEAD? Actually, I was a pretty good promoter.Okay, Take 2: since age 16 tearing tickets at Jerry Brandt's RITZ and later Directing-Creatively the opening of Webster Hall w/ CLARK RENDER, SUSANNE BARTSCH and THE BALLINGERS, I've myself produced and promoted or participated in the production and promotion of live performances and parties (given) by cosmic legends (shout out to #1 WAYNE & SYLVIE) ie.....I WILL BE REMEMBERED BY SOME for working with the likes of: Deborah Harry (2x), Karen Finley (Lite Lounge's "14th St. Fashion Show") The Voluptuous Horrror of Karen Black. Elston Gunne (aka Workdogs), LYRES (2x), Benjamin Liu (assistant to BL on a major Fashion Week show in the 1990's.) Booked and promoted James White aka James Chance (2x), Soundgarden (location scout for private performance, found the spot for A&M) Dee Dee Ramone (my laugh is on his rap album (the song is Brooklyn Babe, Dee Dee and Daniel Rey gave me a credit: "Special Thanks" for bringing food into Chung King Studios...uhhhh....Claim to fame--too many to mention, but once I tweaked a Ramones lyric for the song "Pet Sematary" (minor but true:) I ate dinner With Susan and Tony Bennett, Fredric Dannen, Cindy Sherman...BOOKED AND GAVE ADVANCE $ to make an "Acoustic Johnny Thunders" show at REX (instigator, co-producer and soundperson for what was Thunders' last NYC show), hosted performances and promoted/paid: Luscious Jackson (2x), Bob Gruen, Kris Gruen, Five Points Band, The Bowmans, Thurston Moore, Free Kitten (w/ Kim Gordon) The Charms (4x), The Soul Assassins, The Esperantos, Justin Love's Loveland, Zack Alford's Carte Blanche, The Relatives, Laura Pepitone w/ The Pullouts, Lazy Suns, ROBERT GORDON, Felice Brothers, Eric Mingus, Arto Lindsay, Panther Burns, Gerard Malanga, UI, Nana Vasconselos, Casketdraggers, Little Steven (he got up onstage at GARAGE-A-BILLY!), Ben Perowsky w/ Coco Robicheaux, NYC Graffiti at VARGA (Associate Curator), TEAM art show at BARD (w/ Tom Wolf-Art History Prof. for the new science building), The Greyhounds, John De Vries, Jim C., The Crazy Pages, Ricky Powell (early 90's party, later reviewed his book for HT)), Tommy Boy Records (Hostessed the legendary smoke filled "Big Blunts" release party), EMF/Paper Magazine, Buck-it, The Rants, The Martinets, was part of the "Viva Carlo, Viva la Libertad" committee fundraising for CARLO locked in Mexican prison. The concert featured: Richard Hell, Arto Lindsay, the Psychedelic Furs and Dee Lite. WOW.... HAALE at Woodstock's Colony Cafe (7/7), Ron Toth (Tothic), Mooney Suzuki, British comedian Chris Lynam and three-time Grammy award winner Malcolm Cecil.verbosity pays what...NOW: Since early '90's I write because Steve Hager (HIGH TIMES), Walt Cessna (STOP) and PAPER got me started and I truly desired to write some of my own 'psychotic reactions and....dung'. Brandon Holley helped me on to the IN FASHION masthead, but I was a slacker, didn't move up in media, wasn't too hungry. Currently my words are in ARABESQUE #2, at realitysandwich.com, mothering.com, feminist.com, bringthemhomenow.com, brink.com... early journalistic work was fashion/art and review oriented- STOP Magazine (about Max Ernst's MAXIMILLIANA) & my life currently? TODAY MY #1 priority: Raising BRAVE and DUNE with their dad (!) and having fun in spite of rotten gunslinging asshole politicians' ways. THIS section was updated in a terribly ranting way on OCTOBER 17th 2008
