About Me

About me....let's see. I was born and raised in a small NW Iowa town. I graduated HS in 1979, and went straight on to college. I was one of those that got a 4 year degree in 5 years. I worked 2 on-campus jobs my last 2 years, was involved in 3 clubs, 2 religious life activity commitees, was a campus ambassador, and house treasurer. A campus ambassador gives tours to high school students and their parents, when they come to visit the campus. Somehow I still managed a meager social life.I have been divorced now for 7 years. I have joint custody of my teenage daughter. The episode of Who's the Boss below is one of my favorites. It reminds me of my relationship with my daughter. I was the one that took my daughter to the store when she began to transition from little girl to woman. I did what I could to explain certain things to her. So I felt like Tony Danza's character many times.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet Kim Rhodes, Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds. Kim plays the Mom on Disneys's "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody". I think she is cute and very attractive!!!! I had a big ole crush on Carrie after seeing STAR WARS for the first time in 1977. And her Mom Debbie I think it would just be neat to meet her. Who else would I like to meet......living or dead........If I could go back in time to meet some famous people, I would like to go back to the early 1940s. Then I would want to meet a young Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis. I would like to meet Larry Fine, Moe, Curly and Shemp Howard. I would like to go further back in time to meet Abraham Lincoln or Benjamin Franklin. People who are living...It's hard to say. Perhaps a visit to the White House would be nice.

Music:

I grew up listening to Country. I like the Rock n Roll of the 50s and early 60s. It's alot like todays Country. I also like Jazz, BIG BAND, classical and novelty. Some of my favorite artists include Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, The Monkees, Ray Stevens , Spike Jones, Mel Tillis, Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Marie Osmond and Tanya Tucker.A friend of mine from college is a singer-songwriter in Nashville now too. I enjoy her CDs too. Her name is Roxie Dean.

Movies:

Favorite movies.....I would have to include the STAR WARS movies, as well as all of the STAR TREK movies. I also like all of the Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin movies. More recently, I like Monsters, Inc., A Bugs Life, My Favorite Martian and Muppets from Space.

Television:

I don't watch as much TV as I used to. I don't really care a whole lot for what they show on the primary networks any more. I do watch pro sports on TV (football, some basketball, some baseball, and NASCAR). I also watch the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. I also watch from time to time the Discovery channel, Turner Classic Movies, Spike TV when they show Star Trek, the SciFi channel and the Cartoon Network. I am sure I left something out. I have watched re-runs of BONANZA a couple times in the past year too.
