"Their sound conjures images of dirty highways, whisky-soaked bars and loose women with looser morals" - fasterlouder.com.au
The lowdown and dirty bastard child of the music they grew up with and continue to love - we're talkin' blues-infused '70's boogie, head-bangin' '80's heavy metal and groove-laden '90's stoner rock here folks - THE DEVIL RIDES OUT are "Perth's premier exponents of balls'n'all, rock'n'roll grit and grime" (Drum Media).
Rather than releasing a debut album as its introduction to the world, this cocksure beast of a band from west of the desert is instead unleashing an unholy trinity of EPs - Volumes I, II and III, each featuring 6 tracks... put 'em together and you get 6-6-6. And SEX SEX SEX.
Volume I rode out in April 2007, Volume II followed in its hoofsteps in August and Volume III will bring it on home in July 2008. Look out for a national Australian tour in the second half of the year. RIDE ON!

REVIEWS OF 'VOLUME II' EP:
"A huge step forward in sound and song structures, Volume II unleashes another 6 tracks in the series by these ballsy blues rock n rollers from the city of skimpys. Kickin' things into gear with Rock n Roll Mayhem and keepin' the steam roller movin' for another 5 tracks of life on the road, livin' large and eatin' grease. You dig? I honestly felt the song The Demon was gonna rip into Evie at one stage. So good! I love this truck drivin' Mans Ruin-esque stoner rock jive. Kozik would love these cats. File next to Kyuss, Rollerball, and Alabama Thunderpussy. Good shit! Can't wait to crank Volume III."
Damo, LONG GONE LOSER magazine
"The Devil Rides Out have outdone themselves with Volume II. Put to it in the simplest way possible… this EP rocks HARD from the first note to the last. It kicks you straight in the sack, with Rock N' Roll Mayhem and you kindly say 'Thanks Guys' and start bangin' your head. Lead Pusher is one of the tracks of the year. The Demon features Andrew Ewing on vocals and he kills it. Tonight I Might is also shit hot… but the time you get to Black Spring Rising you may have a broken neck, so this one gives you a slight rest as it’s a medium paced boiler…still, it’s killer. We end with another candidate for Song of the Year… Goddamn Hell Yeah! This song and Lead Pusher have been murdered by Perth indie radio (including by me), and makes you want to start a full-scale riot with this as the soundtrack (this hasn’t actually happened but… it should). Basically, Volume II is going to be hard pressed to be beaten out of my 'EP of the Year' spot."

"Back with a second EP just four months after their debut release, Perth's premier exponents of balls'n'all, rock'n'roll grit and grime mean business. While one is still perplexed as to how much of their sound and image is serious, and how much of it is tongue-in-cheek, their committment to rocking out is undisputed. Comprised of the musical forces of four local music legends, their songwriting is developing to be almost as refined as their image. With effectively chunky hooks and rollicking rhythms, the songs on this release contain a new density that signals the potential for more diversity in future releases."

REVIEWS OF 'VOLUME I' EP:
"The first in a 3 part series, Perth stoner rockers The Devil Rides Out, play that kind of rock made for long road trips between cities. You know the stuff; cock struttin' high flyin' and gear changin' with lotsa riffs and endless nights of the MansRuin catalogue at full volume. Mix up some Honky, Alabama Thunderpussy, Trailer Hitch, Fuckemos, The Distant Crypts, etc. and you get the idea. Volume I dishes up 6 tracks detailing long nights of lovin' and truck-stops with the last track, This Is Your Life, being the winner for me in this set. Sounding Southern but coming from Western (Australia that is), I'd be highly disappointed if none of these guys drive a truck."
- Damo, LONG GONE LOSER MAGAZINE
"Volume I (of a three volume set, thus ending before Black Sabbath territory is trespassed upon) is a deliciously accurate introduction to a band that have made a lot of waves in a short timeframe. Part stoner rock riff-o-rama, part metal virtuosity, part country music folk lore; Volume I is as musically on-the-money as it is lyrically ... The best 'riff' band in Perth hands-down, The Devil Rides Out are a meaty meal."
Mike Wafer, Xpress Magazine
"The first of three EPs released by this local group of heavy hitters certainly hits the mark. Joey K's awesome howl fits perfectly with Andrew Ewing's fuzzed-out riffs and the more-than-competent rhythm section courtesy of bassist Ben Franz and drummer Royce Uyen. It's hard to pick a favourite among the six tracks, but with Sour Like Honey and Good Woman, Bad Mood providing the humorous innuendoes, these two definitely stand out and show what this band can do. With the second Volume due to be recorded by Doctor Alien Smith in the near future, it looks like things are only going to get better from The Devil."
