Mostly people who are already dead, as you can see from my friend-list ;)
Most of my friends in real world are not in myspace, so I tend to think this whole idea of friends or top8-friends as a little ridiculous. That's why I don't pretend to have only friends who I really know.
As far as bands go, I approve as friends any band who sounds good to me, whether I have heard of them previously or not.
There is no logic to my top8. I change them often, sometimes according to some theme, sometimes not. It's much more fun...although Tigrushka is naturally always my no. 1 friend and my band Lockman comes second.
Guitars...tons of strange-sounding guitars, please! Captain Beefheart, NYC punk.
Sweet melodies! Spector, Beatles, Byrds, Big Star
Rock & Roll! Stooges, MC5, Rolling Stones, Garage
Blues!
Oldies for me, thanks! Real screenplays, decent actors, something under the surface.
British comedy is my idea of fun. Monty Python, Not the nine o'clock news, Goodness gracious me, Alias Smith and Jones, Smack the pony...I watch very little television programs.
I can't survive without books. Don't have much time for fiction, but I read a lot of philosophy and biographies (of philosophers, mostly). Then again, I read a little too much music press to be able to read as many books as I would like to.
A working-class hero is something to be.
