Nazca is a scandinavian (norwegian/finnish) band based in Helsinki, Finland,
active since 1997.
Nazca has released two albums and an EP (biodegradable 99, Straight Hope
Tissue EP 00 and Non Grata 03) to great critical acclaim.
Nazca has toured Finland many times over as well as played multimedia shows
in Helsinki 2003 (Sibelius Academy Chamber Music Hall) and 2004 (Lume Media
Centre) Both concerts broke attendance limits to the venue.
Nazca finished off 2004 with a well received concert in Oslo.
Nazca was on a gig hiatus during most of 2005, concentrating on studio work, but
played one acoustic show at Kulturhuset, Stockholm.
Nazca started 2006 with new drummer Pete Korhonen (ex-Mana Mana) and alternated between gigs and the studio until finishing off the live year with another Oslo gig in September.
Nazca has finished all principal recording for their new album. Nazca are currently mixing and mastering the album for a 2007 release.
The music can be described as cerebral, political, melancholic, psychedelic
and poppy.
Nazca features glockenspiels, 12-string guitars, surf guitar and soviet
analog synths.
Nazca release its first DVD, 'Free for all - live at lume' saturday 12th of may 2007.
