All-outta-party type afro-garage-mambo playing instrumental motherfunk punkrockers straight outta Hellsinki, Finland. Down the road since 1998 and still going strong. Three full length albums, ten singles and million beers. More gigs than your mama can count.
Vittu perkele! Uno cerveza & vino tinto, por favor!
International rant and raves:
The Mutants are Finnish squawk n rollers from the Black Lagoon who play some of the grooviest surf-and-sax instro-swill you will probably ever hear, even if you live for 200 years. The Mutants have once again graced us with a two-fisted dose of totally fucking suave jungle exotica-meets spy smasher crime jazz, and they are so goddamn hep that if I DID own a fez, Id put it on. Can I have an Ungawa! brothers and sisters?

These crazy drunken Finnish bastards really do it right, playing instrumental rock and roll with freewheeling abandon and unashamed love for all sorts of music. Never limited to a pure "surf" or "garage" sound, The Mutants music conveys so many influences that it's hard to adequately describe. At times The Mutants sounds like the soundtrack for the greatest 70s cop/biker/international intrigue/sexploitation/blaxploitation movie never made. At other times their music rawks with such an intense groove that it borders on Funhouse era Stooges heights of depravity.

Man, this is in-ya-face PARTY rock'n'roll which draws influences from rhythm & blues, rootsy twang, funky soul, exotica, garagefuzz, and even James Bond flicks. It's all drenched in blisterin' saxophones and the most groovy organ this side of Booker T. This stuff has Club Mau Mau written all over it, so ya know it's hip shit! Where's the Tiki Bar?
-Lowcut, Denmark-
Instrumental madness from Finland. Fun, funky, weird, and drunkenly eclectic. The fantasy of a dance party DJ familiar with everything from Dave "Baby" Cortez to Iggy to Manu Dibango damn near gets realized here.
-The First Church Of Holy Rock´n´Roll, USA-
If surf was invented in a heavy industrial zone instead of California garages it might have sounded like this.
-Reverb Central, USA-
Take music from those 70's porn films, some of those surf tunes, some music from Shaft, blues, tribal sounds, add some Hammond organs, saxophones, funky wah-wah guitars and there you have it: The Mutants!
- Metal Storm, Estonia –
Surf meets Jazz...Mambo meets Garage...Lounge meets fucking Beat...whatever...the Mutants are crazy enough to mix all these styles together and create their own Mutants universe. Damn crazy, but so damn good.

This band has got what Scandinavian action rock schoolboys are looking for; Sex and Coolness. Kudos. Please let them find their way into the next Tarantino film.
