ROBERT AND THE ROBOTERS started out in Dresden/Germany in 1999.
Initially this was planed as an unique party event but the Roboters found their taste for fun on stage, their audience wanted more of them and so they luckily decided to go on as a regular band.
The sound of the Roboters is a marvelous mix of instrumental 60s european beat, surf, lounge, easy listening, tango, twang, polka and lots of more varieties of worldly music. Especially their predeliction for east european traditional melodies is unmistakeable in their music and it´s packed with the typical 21st century craziness.
First of all the Roboters are inspired by the east german 60s big beat sounds like THEO SCHUMANN COMBO and DIE SPUTNIKS. They love THE SHADOWS and DICK DALE as well as more modern instrumental music à la EURO BOYS or LAIKA & THE COSMONAUTS and they are fan of 70s erotic film melodies, agent- and crime-soundtracks, italian lounge beat and all the other trashy and kitschy stuff of this world.
It´s a great pleasure for the Roboters to play live on stage and that´s what they want to transmit to the audience next to the music. So you can be sure to experience a varied, amusing and entertaining party.
