About Me

I work with bits of magazine, newspaper, photographs, charcoal, etc. to make collages. I'm often found leafing through magazines and ripping things, and those who know me are often wading through piles of ripped magazines, glue stains, and charcoal dust on the floors, tables, and beds. I draw heavily on the creepy and romantic experience of the world, and my creations are a melding of fairy tale, circus, and punk sensibilities. My work is influenced by the beauty I see in the bizarre and the strange - in literature, dreams, music, film, stories, and daily life, as well as the work of artists Tim Burton, Tom Waits, Egon Schiele, Jan Svankmajer, Liz McGrath, Lemony Snicket, Eugenio Recuenco, Bukowski, and Edgar Allen Poe. My work has been shown in London, New York, New Mexico, and Los Angeles, and has been represented by the punk-cabaret duo, The Dresden Dolls.
