"The only succesful work of art is the one that fails" (Jean Cocteau)

About Me

I don't want to live in a world without cathedrals. I need their beauty and sublimity. I need them as a resistance against the banality in the world. I want to look up to those radiant church-windows and let me dazzle by their enchanting colours. I need their splendour, their imperative silence. How can we be happy without curiosity, without questions, doubts and arguments? Without the pleasure of thinking? Those two words contain the invitation to an all-embracing split, the order to offer precisely the heart of each happiness, the internal oneness and harmony of life. I need the holiness of words, the elevation of great poetry. But I also need freedom in enmity against each cruelty. Because one can't be without the other. And let nobody even think about forcing me to choose...Ik wil niet in een wereld zonder kathedralen leven. ************************************************************ ***** I am Infinity, I am not a number nor am I a “place” but rather a state of unbounded-ness. I say “a state” instead of “the state” simply because there is no unique infinity, I present myself in the form of a labyrinth of hierarchies; there are an infinity of “bigger” infinities, this is a consequence (corollary) of Cantor's theorem. ************************************************************ ***** “To see the world in a grain of sand, and to see heaven in a wild flower, hold Infinity in the palm of your hands, and eternity in an hour.” – William Blake ************************************************************ ***** The more frightening the world becomes, the more art becomes abstract - Wassily Kandinsky / Kandinsky's compositions are made of the same stuff as my dreams... ************************************************************ *****

True and authentic. ************************************************************ *****'Memories of a lost cynicism: a story of a social misantrophist'I've overestimated cynicism as a manner to stand in life. Cycnicism is an intellectual monster, a blameworthy and easy way of living. But of course the dark side of my soul will never dissapear. Not taking myself too serious anymore opened the doors for impulsiveness. It shouldn't become too 'clean'. My Interests

Literature (literary novels, poetry, philosophy, art), art in all its forms, movies, theatre, philosophy, running (long distances), people who don't like to talk about the weather, who kept the child in them alive, who can still get wondered. Newspaper-addicted and politically left-orientated. Travelling: 'wow!-level': Barcelona, London, Lisbon, Venice, Paris, Vienna, Rome, Cairo, Budapest: all of them 'places where I'd like to live'. Provence, Andalusia, Tuscany, Greek Isles, Swiss Alps attract me a lot. Future (hopefully) dreamtrips: Patagonia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Equador, Namibia, Victoria Falls, South Algeria, New Zealand, Ireland, Lapland, Moskow, New York and surroundings during Indian summer, Route 66 and Costa Rica (to start with, sponsors are welcomeJust a very beautiful picture...

Television:

Only Canvas. No soaps or stupidmakers for me. Loved the Belgian quizes 'De slimste mens' and 'De pappenheimers'.
