Go to ImageShack® to Create your own Slideshow i am a mother, an artist, a good listener, an empathizer, a problem solver. i am my own worst critic, and i'm a better person today than i was yesterday because of it. i am very intuitive, extremely open, and fiercely loyal. i am deep but uncomplicated. i am easily distracted by shiny things and pretty stuff... and i can find beauty at a garbage dump. i have a low tolerance for drama. i don't like feeling like i've wasted time, people who act ugly and derive pleasure from it, bugs that bite, liver, and negativity. so that's enough of that. i am the office manager at an engineering firm and most of the people i come in contact with every day think i'm nuts. i like to sit outside and think and feel and notice. i like the way sunlight feels on my skin and i like to see the way it strikes everything around me. i like to go to the beach and look out at the ocean, and realize once again that i am only a very small part of this huge world around me; whatever may be going on with me that might seem so big at the time only makes up a fraction of all that i am. every day i fall in love... with a new idea, a new concept, a new person. every day i learn something new about myself and learn to love myself a little more. every day i fall in love with my kids all over again. and when i'm not busy with all of that i like to eat, drink, and be merry.

My Interests

art, art & more art, to include but not be limited to: photography, mosaic, oils, acrylics, watercolor, graphite, pen & ink, sculpture, and writing. i'm into color. design. inspiration. passion. coffee. laughter. water. sleeping in. quirkiness. bargains. chocolate. honesty. big dogs. dragonflies. hot peppers. cold beer. character. painted toenails. rusted metal. the smell of johnson's bedtime baby lotion on will's neck. boiled crawfish so spicy it should be served with chapstick. i'm also big on art appreciation... i don't care if you're a musician, thespian, jewelry maker, tattoo artist, or burlesque dancer... if you're feelin it, i'm diggin it.and that's the short list.

I'd like to meet:

i like to surround myself with creative thinkers (especially the ones that inspire me), people who challenge me to see things from a different perspective, and generally those who amuse me in some way. meeting the old masters would be cool, although probably unlikely. but i'm always up for meeting new people, especially those who share similar interests and perhaps even a few who may be interested in modeling for me. oh, and robert walker for cocktails in hell...... ..... ....."The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow Roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars." —From Kerouac's famous novel "On The Road"

Music:

all kinds. seriously. i can get down to that stuff they play at the chinese restaurant. okay, so mostly that's because i like to get down. i like cds i can listen to all the way through... some of my favorites are pearl jam "ten", james taylor greatest hits, otis redding greatest hits, eva cassidy "songbird", nickle creek "this side", dido "no angel", and dr. dre "2001". that's right, i said it. XXPLOSIVE! right now i have to listen to "jungle boogie" repeatedly because payton has been practicing for her upcoming dance routine to the song and will has decided its his favorite in the whole wide world. whatever i'm listening to, i always sing along. loudly. poorly.

Movies:

not much time for movies, but when i do find the time i appreciate anything that can suck me in and hold my attention til the end. some favorites... 40 year old virgin. bourne identity. bourne supremacy. kill bill volumes 1 and 2. the italian job. the princess bride. sixteen candles. grease. breakfast at tiffany's. memoirs of a geisha...

Television:

i'd rather be watching will figure something out for the first time, payton dancing when she doesn't know i'm watching, or porter tag a kid out at the plate. when i do watch tv, i check out the reruns. friends. scrubs. that 70s show. and i usually make time for shark week.

Books:

right now, my favorite books are goodnight, moon. the very hungry caterpillar. guess how much i love you. and whatever payton's reading while she's curled up next to me. when i get the chance to read grown-up stuff, i read anything i can learn from. at this moment, i'm reading zoltan szabo's 70 favorite watercolor techniques. sounds interesting... i know.

Heroes:

my brother, for fighting for our country and defending our rights... i sleep better at night knowing you're protecting me from bad guys. other members of the armed forces, past and present, for doing the same. people who truly think like individuals, and stand up for what they believe, even if it's not the most popular of ideas.be DIFFERENT.
