BETTER WAY
I'm a living sunset
Lightning in my bones
Push me to the edge
But my will is stone
Cuz I believe in a better way
Fools will be fools
And wise will be wise
But I will look this world
Straight in the eyes
I believe in a better way
I believe in a better way
What good is a man
Who won't take a stand
What good is a cynic
With no better plan
I believe in a better way
I believe in a better way
Reality is sharp
It cuts at me like a knife
Everyone I know
Is in the fight of their life
And I believe in a better way
Take your face out of your hands
And clear your eyes
You have a right to your dreams
And don't be denied
I believe in a better way
I believe in a better way
I believe in a better way

"The love that we withhold is the pain that we carry."
~?"The solution is not the antithesis of the problem"
~Me"Do you really need a middleman between you and God? Or you just giving away your power so you don't have to think for yourself, or take responsibility for your own actions and thoughts."
~???"Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding."
~Albert Einstein "...I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness, and greed..."
~His Holiness the Dalai Lama "In my soul rages a battle without victor. Between Faith without proof and reason without charm."
~Rene Sully-Prudhomme, French Poet "There Absolutely is truth in every Religion: But Absolute-Truth in None of them"
~Rev. D. Younger "Be the change you wish to see in the world"
~Gandhi“The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it.”
~Chinese Proverb "See all women as mothers, serve them as your mother. When you see the entire world as your mother, the ego falls away."
~Maharajji "If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything"
~Mark Twain "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience."
~anon. "Both read the Bible day and night; but you read black where I read white."
~William Blake "When you have cut down the last tree and have poisoned the last river.. only then will you realize you cannot eat money."
~Native American quote "The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom."
~Isaac Asimov "The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded upon the Christian religion."
~John Adams, Treaty of Tripoly, Article 11 "Love is a serious mental disease."
~Plato "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."
~Albert Einstein"I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there."
~Mother Theresa"Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny"
~Mahatma Gandhi"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves."
~Carl Jung"Correcting oneself is correcting the whole world. The sun is simply bright. It does not correct anyone. Because it shines, the whole world is full of light. Transforming yourself is a means of giving light."
~Ramana Maharshi"Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson"If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace."
~Thich Nhat Hanh"It is easier to lead men to combat, stirring up their passion, than to restrain them and direct them toward the patient labors of peace."
~Andre Gide"We will not build a peaceful world by following a negative path. It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it. We must concentrate not merely on the negative expulsion of war but on the positive affirmation of peace. We must see that peace represents a sweeter music, a cosmic melody, that is far superior to the discords of war. Somehow, we must transform the dynamics of the world power struggle from the negative nuclear arms race, which no one can win, to a positive contest to harness humanity's creative genius for the purpose of making peace and prosperity a reality for all the nations of the world. In short, we must shift the arms race into a peace race. If we have a will - and determination - to mount such a peace offensive, we will unlock hitherto tightly sealed doors of hope and transform our imminent cosmic elegy into a psalm of creative fulfillment."
~Martin Luther King, Jr."If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart."
~Lao Tzu"If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace."
~John Lennon"To reach peace, teach peace."
~Pope John Paul II"It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it."
~Eleanor Roosevelt
Ok.. I have lived a bunch of places and met a bunch of people. Some famous, most not.. but i feel i have learned at least something from all of them. I love music and playing my horns..and i love teaching. I enjoy cars as well.. but seeing how i sold the fun cars and currently don't have a new hot rod yet i don't think about it to much. Yes i am ordained, but my background is a little more eclectic than most. If you wanted to pin me to a religion I would be Gnostic, but certainly not in a strict Christian sense. Lets just say I have a broader world view than most. My music site i am setting up for gigging and for displaying my arrangments www.myspace.com/brucemangan ..Pranayam Breathing..
