Helena Petrovna Blavatsky

there is no religion higher than truth

About Me

I was a flamboyant smoker, writer, conversationalist. A Russian by birth, I spoke French, Russian and English and wrote in these three languages. The majority of my writings were in English. Though I was a public defender and popularizer of Eastern Religion and theosophy in general, I publicly proclaimed myself a Buddhist when I took Pansil (the five Buddhist precepts) in Ceylon .

My writings

Isis Unveiled The Secret Doctrine The Key to Theosophy The Voice of the Silence
I also wrote a multitude of articles, some of which are online at several places like:
A selection of my articles at Blavatsky Net Selected Blavatsky articles, biography and historical documents

My Interests

My main interest in life was the founding of the Theosophical Society with the help of my good friend Henry Steel Olcott. In that organisation we worked towards finding the underlying wisdon in all religions, philosophy and even sciences. In my books my interests shine through:
religion, parapsychology, spirituality, occultism, theosophy, wisdom, human rights, Christianity, Buddhism, Yoga, Brahma Vidya, Hinduism and Kabala.

I'd like to meet:

Every servant to humanity

Meditation isn't one of the subjects Blavatsky wrote a lot about. It wasn't yet a very big deal when she lived. She did however, for her closest students, create a diagram of meditation. Obviousl...

eating and drinking right

With the holidays coming up, I thought it might be prudent (though perhaps not popular) to share some of Blavatsky's thoughts on what to eat and how to eat. Here's what she said about vegetarianism an...

what kind of wisdom does the world need?

Plenty were the avataras since the first man looked up into empty space for help, instead of trying his own intellect, and relying upon his own omnipotent spirit. Has any one of those "prophets" ever ...
