Life... Music... There's a difference?

About Me

Brian Lucas has been making music and loving it his whole life. Serious about turning his passion for music into a career path, he attended the Berklee College of Music, graduating with a Performance degree. Since then, he has spent the majority of his life as a full time musician, producing, composing, conducting and teaching music. He has become an accomplished vocalist, pianist and musical director as well as a working actor. In his time living in Boston, NYC, and Washington DC, Brian has worked for companies including: HBO, Paramount, ABC, Touchstone as well as numerous professional theaters and has experience leading full union bands and orchestras.Ready for a new musical journey, Brian has recently transplanted himself to Nashville to pursue more avenues in songwriting, producing, and developing talent. He says he's looking to "collaborate with people who inspire me to be better than I am. When great musical minds join up, magical things can happen."

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Whoever is in the studio at the time. Aren't we all just one big band?
Influences: Everybody I've ever heard. Every musician should listen to every style whether you enjoy it or not. Grow musically.
Sounds Like: Though Brian writes for many styles of music, his own personal style had been described as "John Mayer behind the piano". He claims his percussive, rhythmic piano style mostly comes from listening to Dave Grusin.
Type of Label: None

A little break

So it's been a crazy, kinda rough couple of months. My car broke down TWICE, before the end of the year, both times bad enough to get towed. So instead of holidays with family and friends, my holidays...

November Update

Ok, things have been a little crazy. Didn't have heat for about 36 hours. Gotta love apartment living. I love people who say "Someone will be by this afternoon" and nobody ever shows. Pass the buc...

So I've recently gotten a tongue lashing from a certain someone (you know who you are), that I haven't been keeping my blog up to date. I have to admit, this blog thing is a little foreign to me and ...

I know I promised

Ok, so I've been a little slow getting the new songs recorded. I've tried to put rhythm tracks behind them and so far I hate them all. I may just record them with piano/vocal and set them loose on t...

New Songs Soon

I've written a few new tunes. Working on getting demos up here. Had an infected jaw that basically closed my mouth so that I couldn't eat, let alone sing. For those that know me, one of the new tune...

Friend Request

Ok, so the downside to MySpace is that you have a bunch of people randomly request to be a friend. I started by accepting everybody, but now I have a few guidelines. So if you are sending a request ...
