HIS PIONEERING BEATS HAVE
HELPED ESTABLISH MANY
UNFORGETTABLE RELEASES.
Jases fascination with Hip-Hop
culture dates back to 1988 when
he became a member of the
legendary Rock Da City Crew as
a B-Boy and Graff Writer. After
helping to pioneer and establish
the Nuffsaid record label alongside
Prowla, MC Que, Menace and
Plutonic Lab, he then went on
to become one third of the world
famous electronic act Nubreed.
As a live act Nubreed repeatedly
toured Australia and the world,
supporting and playing alongside
some of the worlds biggest urban,
electronic and mainstream acts.
Their list of supports include Black
Eyed Peas, De La Soul, Roni Size,
Adam Freeland, Hybrid at Fabric,
Freddy Fresh and the list goes on.
In the past few years Nubreed have
also been nominated for 3 DMA
awards, an A.R.I.A and nominated
for best new artists on UKs Radio
One Breakspoll awards.
Taking time out from producing
solely Hip-Hop to conquer the
Breaks world, Jase spent much
of the early noughties producing
for overseas renowned labels.
The proof of his success lies in
the groups impressive resume
of overseas production work.
These include production for
Mob Records, Marine Parade,
Boombox, Zero Tolerance, Global
Underground, EQ, Supercharged
and y4k Distinctive records.
Between regular globetrotting
visits to Melbourne Airport, Jase
chipped away at beats for his
rst ever solo album, eventually
nding a home at Obese Records.
Jase has been a supporter of
Obese Records since producing
CEO Pegz rst release Rogue
in 2001. He has continued to work
with Obese artists since and plans
to continue this relationship well
into the future.
A testament to his dedication lies
in his ongoing desire to continue
working with high quality acts. So
far he has produced and remixed
for some of Australias nest MCs
including Prowla, Trem, Phrase,
Bias B, Brad Strut, Muphin, Lazy
Grey, Reason, A-Love and overseas
artists 7L & Esoteric and Tumi.
Its now 2006 and Jase is the
newest addition to the Obese Camp.
Hes back to help step up the game
with his new label Beathedz via
Obese. His next project is a massive
20 track compilation that features a
bevy of Obese artists and the cream
of the crop of Aussie Hip-Hop. Titled
The Jase Connection, its sure to
be a monumental piece of Oz
