Early influences include Parliament, Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix & Miles Davies, and whilst living in Melbourne playing in several percussion bands exploring global rhythms from Africa, South America & Cuba. Moving to the Tropical North Australian paradise of Cairns in 1983 has proved to be one of the main inspirations in his musical career, and it is this area where he has set up home and made the progression from live percussionist @ outdoor parties (such as Rhythmajik Kulture, Shockwave and the original beach parties) to one of Cairns's finest Dj's. Chill-E's Dj career originated with a residency @ Silky, an underground global dance music organisation based in UK and Australia. From the original Fluid boat parties on the Great Barrier Reef, thru the Silky Sundaze chill-out sessions, the institution that is Deep North, turning the Met Bar into a dance music haven 2003-2006 and now Paradisaical dj Chill-E's residency @ Silky continues to go from strength to strength.Dj Chill-E is everyone's friend on the dance scene and has continued to unify clubbers from all scenes on the dancefloor with his Mackie soundsystem & love of all things funky - dub, electro, psy trance, tribal, deep house, techno, breakbeats, trance - and is always booked to Dj @ most of Northern Australia's large events such as Dreamscape, White Party & Earthdance Cairns.DJ's and ACTS SUPPORTEDDerrick May Shaun de Bauch Dan Marshall Paceman Jeremy J The Baron PQM Gab Olivier Danny Bonici Infected Mushroom PRESENT Citing influences such as Richard Villalobos, Dirty Bird, Urban Monkeys and Riverstar, feel inspiration from these sources, jah and the people and environment to make personal productions at Aquaboogie Studios on the Cairns Northern Beaches.
