About Me
When he was asked who to watch out for in the local music scene, Suffa from the Hilltop Hoods had only four words: “Spit Syndicate from Sydney†- the hype surrounding these two young guns has been nothing short of electrifying. Comprised of MCs Nick Lupi and Just Enuf, Spit Syndicate are set to burst onto the local music scene with their highly-anticipated debut album “Towards the Lightâ€.At the tender ages of 19 and 20 respectively, Nick Lupi and Just Enuf do not share the characteristics typical of up and coming artists. Both rappers display skilful, intelligent rhymes, a strong work ethic and a high-energy, dynamic live show; constantly performing at a level well beyond their years. With their buzz steadily building across the country, the young guns have been attracting the interest and earning the respect of many within the Australian music industry – although Spit Syndicate still remain unsigned, waiting until their album is complete before settling down with a record label. In between touring with Bliss n Eso and racking up an impressive list of support slots, the charismatic duo have nearly completed their debut LP; which features production from M-Phazes, Jase, Fame and the Lullabyes, amongst others. They have toured NSW with Bliss N Eso twice, and have opened for international acts such as Xzibit, Atmosphere + Brother Ali, People Under the Stairs, Diverse, Savage + Mareko and were billed to support Fabolous before his tour was cancelled; they are supporting Ice Cube and Lupe Fiasco in coming weeks. Spit Syndicate recently appeared on MTV’s “The Lairâ€, with an electrifying performance which undoubtedly stole the show from the established headlining bands. In addition to this, Spit Syndicate have supported for local groups such as Bliss n Eso, the Funkoars, Urthboy + Ozi Batla, Phrase, Lyrical Comission and Hyjak + Torcha. The boys have also been busy in the studio, working hard on their own LP, as well as collaborating with Detroit’s Royce Da 5’9â€, Diverse from Chicago, as well as locals 13th Son, the Tongue, Hyjak & Torcha and Fame.2007 has seen Spit Syndicate performing with The Lullabyes, a freakishly-talented up-and-coming indie electro group, combining for 3 sold-out shows to showcase a unique electro-hip hop-indie mash-up style of music, which has been a smashing success, proof that the duo are by no means restricted by the confines of genre. The Double S released the now-sold-out “The Future’s Bright†mixtape in early 2005, to widespread acclaim from both music fans and industry figures. With the looming release of “Towards the Light†and the staggering buzz that now surrounds Spit Syndicate, the duo are making some serious moves to cement their initial claim as an undisputable truth.
