First off.. I hate writing bio's, especially when they are in the third person so the old one had to go! here's an update!
I started writing back in 1993 but more or less as an extension of my interest in Hip-Hop through MC-ing. We had famous cypher nights back in the days which took place at the Ponsonby community centre and as well as trying to sharpen our skills at freestyling we used tp get drunk as anything and tag our names all the way home afterwards. Graffiti ws actually secondary to my love of MC-ing but eventually took over for a long time. I grew up around Morningside and Kingsland in central Auckland City, where a lot of pioneers of the Auckland/New Zealand scene were making an impression on the emerging generation I am a part of.
Between 1996-current date I've been extremely active with my graffiti and for the past 3 years back into the music side of things with my crew Tombraiderz and also solo, doing stuff for mixtapes and trying to hone my skills as a beat maker.. I've done a few beats for some of my underground mates including Young Mega, Temple Jones, Mike Pipes and more..
I am one of 3 directors of a company formed in 2002 called Disruptiv Ltd with Deirdre Dawson and Jonny Wartmann aka Pest5 or MC 4Higher ( www.myspace.com/mc4higher ). There are many associated projects from that business you may have heard of including Disrupt Magazine, Disrupt The System jam (part of Aotearoa Hip Hop Summit), Disrupt Gallery, Disruptiv Music- under which we recently released 4 Corners brilliant album "The Foundations" amongst a slew of underground mixtapes and street releases giving profile to our artists and many new emerging and possibly now established acts.
Also through Disruptiv I have worked on a truckload of CD cover designs for many of our most prolific Hip Hop artists including:
I am part of the graffiti crews TMD- The most dedicated and Stick Up Kids (check my work on www.stickupkids.de ). TMD recently won the world final of the Write4Gold graffiti battle which was dope!
I have been lucky enough to paint in a few places abroad, travelling once in 2003 to Germany and Ireland and then again for 2 months earlier in 2006 to Paris to attend the kosmopolite festival organised by MAC crew and then to Switzerland, Germany, London and Brighton for the Sleeping Giants jam. I have also travelled all of NZ and been to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in Australia, painting everywhere I've been.
