BG ChopHouse is located just outside the Bowling Green, Kentucky city limits on a scenic and very relaxing 16 acres that gives you a very warm and inviting feeling of recording at home all while being recorded with industry standard equipment. We have been termed the "musicians studio", due to the fact that we allow and encourage musicians to participate in each step of the mixing and mastering process. Those that have stopped in to take a look around and those that have recorded with us have called us "the nicest and most professional studio in all of South Central Kentucky".
We have worked with many bands in and around the Bowling Green, Kentucky area and numerous out of state bands. In 2007 alone we worked with over 120 acts from 7 different states. This was accomplished by word of mouth advertising, we do no advertise besides word of mouth.
Many of our mixes have been played on local radio stations such as "91.7", "D-93", "Sam 100.7" and "103.7 The Point" and on stations in Cincinnati, Nashville, Lexington, Louisville, Knoxville, Atlanta, Columbus and Birmingham. During a soulsideout radio interview on D-93 the band was quoted as saying "BG ChopHouse is the kind of atmosphere where a musician can come in and have complete control over what you want to do, nothing is rushed which allows you to get the songs exactly as you want."
The head engineer has been recording and mixing music since 1995 and he has been mixing on professional recording consoles since 2002. He is also a graduate of the S.A.E. Institute of Technology out of Nashville, TN for audio engineering where he graduated just shy of a perfect grade point average earning respect from his peers and professors. He has recorded on consoles ranging from Yamaha O1V to SSL, Neve and Tritons. He was tested and certified by Mackie (the company that manufactured our console) to run the console we use.
The studio is equipped with all industry standard equipment. The control room is roughly 300 sq. feet and the live room is also roughly 300 sq. feet. Both rooms are acoustically treated and tuned. The live room has a warm natural sound, which is inviting to all types of music.
We offer rates that are very reasonable compared to most studios that are comparable to us. We offer song and project rates verses hourly or daily rates, so musicians will not feel rushed and will be able to perform at their best. Our goal at BG ChopHouse Studio is to get the very best sounds recorded possible, while making your recording experience enjoyable and affordable. We take pride in every mix and treat each project with equality.
