Mat-E-Mat began his journey into music in the year 2000. After being pretty good at writing in school, he put that craft into developing lyrics. This would be the beginning of what would become the "Devilish" ep. This project was stalled when Mat-E-Mat and long time friend Lambo formed " The Hectic Cillaz" in 2001. They began writing and preparing tracks for what would become the cult classic " Southern Darkness" lp. This record spawned such hits as "Roll it up, Light it up" and " Gangsta Stylez" and sollidified the Cillaz as local hero's. After many shows and the release of the 1st local independant dvd, and the " In Your System" lp the cillaz have parted ways for now to expand on there own and discover more of there own musical likings. Mat-E-Mat mixed and engineered both THC albums, and also mixed and engineered the ultra rare " Storm ends, Smoke arrises" ep.
Nowadays Mat-E-Mat and the rest of his Darkside Records artists "Xcess" and " Murdamindz " seek to bring new light to the independant music scene. Transforming all styles into one melting pot of beautiful muscial bliss. Mat-E-Mat is currently recording " The Asylum Project vol. 1" in BG Chophouse studio located on the outscirts of Vette City. Head engineer Ryan Adkins and Mat-E-Mat are putting there skills together to create a for shure classic record. Stay tuned.........
