Christina Dallas Jones could very well be the most exciting new talent in live theater today. Both an accomplished singer and talented actress she has proven her ability to combine the two on stage like no other in recent memory and she evokes comparison to some of Broadway's greatest. Her vocal characteristics demonstrate a rich, clear tonal quality with a uniquely pleasant delivery which projects without overpowering. And her arena seems boundless as she has proven herself in Opera, Jazz, Country, and Character. Christina's acting has become surprisingly polished for her years and she has coupled her vocal skills with theatrics on the stage with performances that literally leave the enthralled audience with that rare sensation that she had become the character. She was awarded the “Best Actress in a Musical†for her portrayal of Guenevere in Lerner and Loewe’s "Camelot" by the Emma Parrish Theatre this year. Her amazing musical resume includes Anna in "The King and I", Rosabella (Amy) in "The Most Happy Fella", Grace Ferrell in "Annie", Marion Paroo in "The Music Man", and a truly sparkling performance of the character, Lucy in "You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown". And as for pure acting skills she won acclaim as Lil’ Bit in the haunting, Pulitzer Prize winning play, "How I Learned To Drive".
Of particular note was Christina's selection by famed author and artist, Timothy Sprunger, after his hearing her performance in "King and I", to sing the lead female role in his promotional recording for a new Broadway musical he had written for Michael Crawford. Tim’s musical demo was so well received in London that representatives came to the live showcase where they experienced Christina's captivating performance of the ballad, “This Was A Manâ€.
Beyond her performing acumen, Ms. Jones has directed many plays and musicals in central Florida and she maintains a very successful practice as a voice and acting coach for fresh young talent. With her emphasis on the skills of audition, she has seen her students cast in Broadway touring companies and in major Motion Pictures, and gaining admission to some of the most prestigious university based theater arts programs in the country.
Most recently, Christina directed "Grease" for the Murfreesboro Center for the Arts/Youth Series. And she has been cast in a supporting role (Vera Resue) in the movie, "Billy: The Early Years" (the Billy Graham movie), with famed director Robbie Benson, and also in "Hannah Montana, The Movie".
