Michael Sandefer started from such an early age with music. His mother reports that even as a small baby, Mike's whole world would stop anytime music came on. His mother says that he would drop anything he was doing and start dancing. Mike began writing songs at age 10 and started joining and dropping bands from the age of 15 to 18. It wouldn't be until age 18 that Mike decided that having a band just wasant the way to do it. Mike started experimenting with computer programs such as Fruity Loops, Ejay Hip-Hop, Ejay Platinum and Sonic Foundry Acid 4.0. Mike could never seem to find a sound he liked, none of the pre-recorded loops could do Mike any justice with where he wanted to go in his music.
Later, he would pick up a program called Reason 2.5 and begin toying with that on a regular basis. After many months of learning the ins and outs of that program and many failed attempts at songs, Mike saw the light.
Mike started blending aspects of industrial music and darkwave electronica together to create something he had never heard before. With the help of Sony Acid to sequence it all together and Sony Sound Forge 8.0 to take care of any frequency or audio work that had to be done, Mike began paving the way for himself.
The "Darkwave Industrial" sound was well received by his friends and family, as well as many random fans on the internet. Although a small group, they were the initial driving force behind Mike's hard work to make the best music he could. Time came for the album "Darkwave Decisions" to begin recording set for release in fall of '06. Mike said that he toyed with a few songs at BG Chophouse Studio and said it just didn't feel right.
Mike would head home, with a new idea and create a brand new sound using the basic's of darkwave electronica and fusing it together with jazz and lounge music with aspects of rhythm and blues and catchy, addictive lyrics. The completion of "The Depth of Madness" which is so rightfully named after Mike's struggle to find the right sound is very very soon and the album will be available this summer.
