Experiential Academy Foundation (EAF) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia:Embrace is all about Life Dreams, those dreams which will bring happiness to the self and others ….and the greatest dreams are dreamt by many and when the time is right, those who are touched by it will come together and give their best to make a difference in whatever way they can.We have the great pleasure to announce that we are currently setting up an NGO (Embrace Africa Association Ethiopia) as part of the Experiential Academy Foundation which will also have a commercial training arm in Debrezeit, Ethiopia. It will be located in a beautiful recreation area 55km southwards of Addis Ababa, approximately 1 � hour drive from the capital.In January 2008, Embrace’s non-executive Director Mr Eskender Kassa who lives in Addis Ababa acquired this magnificent 20,000 m2 piece of land with buildings from Ms Abebech Sheferaw, the Director of the neighbouring Zeredeseh Herbal Medicine Centre.The Academy will serve globally from its unique base in Ethiopia with experiential learning through retreat programmes and training schemes for children and adults. The Academy’s Global Family Centre will offer a home to children and young people including a boarding school facility.Embrace feels very fortunate to cooperate with our friends and colleagues in Ethiopia on this magnificent project which will bring great benefit to many. In January 2008, Embrace’s Programme Director, Ms Waltraud Idir and Vocational Instructor Mr Easton Murray visited Ethiopia to meet members of the Lighthouse PLC team (see below/ team of Eskenders commercial enterprise), see the country and make plans to establish this long-planned academy and little did we knew that after 3 days we have been offered the best place possible for such an undertaking… We also had the opportunity to share our impressions about Ethiopia on National Television and with a Senior Officer from the Millennium Committee (Ethiopia was celebrating the millennium last September). The project gets so much support from individuals, professionals and organisations from Ethiopia, UK and from all over the world trusting that the project will contribute to manifest a joint vision of unity, understanding, care, opportunities and success for everyone. Ethiopia is a very beautiful and ancient country and people who will visit will experience great hospitality and kindness of its people.Within the near future we will launch a fundraising campaign in order to begin the service and also to acquire facilities (e.g. additional buildings, furniture, IT equipment…).
