These recordings were a live feed taken from the Dave Barter Blues Festival at Canucks in Mazatlan, Mexico on January 24, 2008. The original one hour set was remixed by Blair Bolduc of Brandon, Manitoba. A big thanks goes out to him! I have to thank Willem of Canucks in Maz. You made my day suprising me with this recording! Your hard work is greatly appreciated!
Two band members of The Majestics flew down to Mazatlan for this festival. Giving us great guitar is the one and only Gerry Perkin, my bandleader, musical director and actually, he's my leash! My amazing drummer, Randy Lawrence of Winnipeg, MB kept us in the pocket!
The really amazing thing about my show was that it pulled together with one rehearsal with Chris Henderson and Rob Lamonica. I hadn't played with them since the last Blues Festival in Maz (Jan 2007). They pulled out all the stops and contributed to a great sounding band! Thanks you guys! I owe all of you lots of hugs, kisses, etc.......; )
My sisiter Laurie Belair from Edmonton, Alberta, my friend Sue Neville from Cambridge, Ontario and Wendy Werbitski also from Edmonton, Alberta flew down to Mazaylan to be my guardian angels. I appreciate all you did for me! I owe Wendy a BIG thanks for giving us such great back-up vocals!
