I am a retired railroad engineer who loves music. I am the guitarist in Rockin'Rick & The Preachers Band From Athens NY fronted by Rick Surrano harp and vocals other Members include Mark Foy Drums Mike Persico bass and Craig Kiel keys also back playing with Ken Briggs and Nite Train and subbing with Lex Grey from time to time Life is Good !!!I started playing when I was 16 I am now 60 years old and still havin a great time.I was in the Army from 1968 to 1971 a tour in Vietnam & a tour In Germany got my interest focused again in music when in Europe I bought a Hofner Barney Kessel copy got jamming with some guy's I was stationed with.I met up with a guy from Cal.all I can remember him by was Mac anyway he said that he played With the band Pacific Gas And Electric he was a great lead player and knew the blues at that point I picked up the bass and George Popp who was a drummer from Mineville upstate NY who now lives in Brooklyn we had a power trio we hung out at a place in Heidleburg called club Storyville.One night there was a German Band struggling to play roots music we asked if we could play when they took a break and after a killer set of blues stuff they said that was enough and took the stage back I had a great feeling after that set I really felt the power of Blues Music and hav'nt stopped digging Blues It aint nothin but a feeling a good one at that!!!!! ..
