Just Watch Me!

About Me

A QUICK NOTE ABOUT THIS MYSPACE PAGE: I'm sure you've figured out that Pierre Trudeau doesn't have a MySpace from beyond the grave. However, wouldn't it be interesting if he did have a MySpace? I've tried to tailor this page to what I think a Pierre Trudeau MySpace may have looked like. This page is a tribute to a great Canadian Prime Minister. I hope that those who happen by this site enjoy it and learn a little about Mr. Trudeau's contribution to this great land.

"Reason over Passion" that's my motto -- It carried me through 16 years as Prime Minister of Canada (from 1968 to 1979 and 1980 to 1984). My Prime Ministership saw Canada become a nation that upholds the values of multiculturalism and billingualism. I brought the constitution back to Canada (so we no longer had to go begging to Britain to amend it) and I brought the the Charter of Rights and Freedoms! What can I say, I was a great Prime Minister - too bad they didn't name the mountain after me but at least I have an airport! And what other Prime Minister chilled with Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono, dated Barbara Striesand, and was chased around by girls? I had Trudeaumania, slid down bannisters, pirouetted behind the Queen of England, and gave the finger to those who pissed me off!So if you like billingualism and multiculturalism and/or are a beautiful woman (especially a celebrity) say hello... but if you're Richard Nixon, Rene Levesque, an Alberta oil baron, or a Quebec seperatist then you'll just see "how far I'll go" -- "Just Watch Me!" --

My Interests

Please Note:
Any references in the first person are purely satirical.
Canoeing, Reading, Philosophy, Intellectual debates, Law, the Charter, Billingualism, Canada

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet beautiful women (especially celebrities), federalists, lovers of billingualism and multiculturalism, as well as fellow intellectuals.

Music:

A good ballroom melody to dance with a beautiful girl to; I also enjoy the soothing classical guitar melodies of Liona Boyd - one of my former girlfriends.

Movies:

Trudeau: The Man, the Myth, the Movie; Trudeau: Making of a Maverick

Television:

The CBC, duh! They are the ones who provided this clip!

Books:

Too many to mention here! But I do love reading about philosophy, history, politics, and law. Nothing like curling up by the fireplace in my Art Deco House in Montreal with a copy of "The Republic" by Plato; I also enjoy the many books that I have written on federalism, public policy and international relations - I do pride myself on being quite the intellectual ;)
Books I don't like: tell-all books written by my ex-wife -- Guess that's what happens when you get married and divorced while in office (especially with a woman who is 29 years younger than yourself!).

Heroes:

Wilfred Laurier, Herodotus, Aristotle, Gandhi, Jean Marchand, Gerard Pelletier, FR Scott
