River Freshney - a really bad comedy act disguised as a really bad thrash band. It's like watching a heavy musical version of a Roy 'Chubby' Brown show.

Metal bands, remember them? A group of 4 or 5 filthy blokes who really didn’t give a fuck, who woke up wherever they fell down, put on what ever dirty piece of clothing was laying around, downed the rest of the nights before drink, picked up their instruments, and played the most dirty intense and often offensive sounds that just seemed right! The days when cut off denim jackets weren’t sold for unaffordable prices in your local ‘fashion’ store, sweatbands weren’t worn around the elbow by your high street fashion victim and hi tops weren’t just worn to try and be the next cool kid in the 80’s revival trend. But then one day it seemed to disappear, just vanish, and it almost began to look like Toni & Guy had teamed up with Vidal Sassoon and take on the streets in a big metal fashion clear up.
Thrash never died, metal never vanished, it just got hidden and locked away by the fringes and bleached hair extensions by the kids who never realised, THIS is what made the metal scene metal, and this is what gave birth to the offensive egg of society, known as RIVER FRESHNEY!
Each member of River Freshney has been raised on a healthy diet of REAL metal and thrash and was so offended and fed up by the coming of ‘haircut’ metal, they felt they had to sort this. They’re not starting it again, they’re not making it new, they're simply bringing it back and showing it should have never been looked over.
With a thrash sound of guitars, punk beats of drums, horrid cries of vocals, mixed with an (un)healthy dose of tongue in cheek humour, River Freshney have been counted as one of the most look out for bands set to steal 2008. With upcoming radio slots and shows (including TotalRock Radio, and 4Q Radio), previous radio slots and Bands of the week (4Q radio), not to mention a number of shows, Its going to be a difficult task to avoid such a noisy bunch, of bastards!
