...the blonde leading the blind....

About Me

...from birth! (Approximately only 9% of blonds are natural.) Oh, and...........BLONDS PREFER GENTLEMEN! Headline (quote to the left) is a twist on U2's lyric from Staring at the Sun (it's the blind leading the blond). Die-hard fan (SIXTY-ONE shows from 1984-2006; http://www.u2-vertigo-tour.com/myshows/qss7v6msv6i/5721) and follow Zoo Station (SF's U2 tribute band) roughly twice a month since August 2002! Hyper-feminist but NOT a misandrist ("manhater"). On my own since 1986. Lived alone since 1993 (had a spiritual awakening the same year). Will NOT marry but might consider a celebration ceremony and a contract. Interested in Big Sisters of America or foster parenting someday. Have twin 5-yr-old GODDESS-sons, Michael & Robert--------and a Betta fish named JJ (also the name of one of Larry Mullen Jr's--see my Pics--dogs)! HSP, QuirkyAlone, a bit of a perfectionist and trying to be a minimalist. I'm a rooster in Chinese astrology, so don't take it the wrong way if I seem proud! Big on degrees...I have my AA, BA, and MA and am now getting my public interest JD. I want to be an attorney/activist (researcher, writer, and speaker) for international women's issues. Thought I might enter a PhD program in Women's Studies (IF it is offered) or Rhetoric with an emphasis in Women, Gender and Sexuality at UCB in 2010 or do my Master's in Law (LLM) after law school. Definitely do NOT want to do my LLM now. As for my PhD I will probably do it later so I can get an activist job established, hopefully with the United Nations. P.S. My Interests

, concerts, Denise Austin's Fit & Lite (yoga, aerobics, Pilates in 30 minutes), singing along (sometimes at the top of my lungs), meditation via deep breathing at bedtime, spirited debate on world issues (especially social control), small things (baby humans, baby animals, and baby Tabasco bottles!), finding ladybugs, night dream interpretation and daydreaming, watching fireworks (in the sky and when I close my eyes), time management, aromatherapy, street fairs, playing with bubbles , Taize, burning mixed CDs, making my own candles and incense, creating Evites, Scrabble and other board games, tennis (rallying only), happy tears, Medicine Cards (power through animals), straightening my downtown SF apartment and then lounging in it, palmistry, anything that glitters, astrology, canoeing, snoping urban legends, high tea, sunbathing naked in a garden, observing genderbending and androgyny, numerology, waking up at twilight and catching three sunrises, shadows and tall trees, and studying lyrics by

I'd like to meet:

Adam Clayton: He's the only U2 member I haven't met. Bono: I only met (and hugged) him briefly in 1987 and handed him a letter (see blog) in 2005. The Edge: He was with Bono in 1987, but he stood off to the side. Larry Mullen Jr.: I got his autograph and a photograph in 2001, but I want some more! Cindy Sheehan (again): After emailing with her, and meeting her once, we decided I'd create and manage her page. Brad Barros: He kindly emailed and hired me to create and manage his page. (See Top Friends below for both Cindy and Da_Goal_Is_Soul--the candles) Oh, and other HSPs and QuirkyAlones, and feminists, particularly male. (I don't know the boys in the video below, but I cannot get enough of watching it!)

The above artists...I either have more than one CD of OR I have one CD that I just love. But there's so much more...like tunes in old movies. Showtunes. Soundtracks. Old jazz or reggae on public radio. Acoustic Sunrise on KFOG or Chill on KLLC/Alice (Sunday mornings). Really love music in general--all genres--my acute sense of hearing demands music. Check out the 100 songs on my Project Playlist (you can listen to all songs on random and/or forward through ones you don't like and/or slide up and down and pick one at a time; click "launch standalone player" to listen to my playlist without remaining on my page):

Movies:

Almost 20 years since U2's Rattle and Hum. U23D!
ACROSS THE UNIVERSE (featuring Bono), 7 Dias (about U2), The Million Dollar Hotel (written by Bono), Bloody Sunday, The Sweetest Thing, An Inconvenient Truth, Hitchcock's Vertigo & Rear Window, Chicago, Dangerous Beauty, Dangerous Liaisons, Kinsey, Becoming Jane, Pretty in Pink, Waiting to Exhale, Babel, Run Lola Run, Not Without My Daughter, The DaVinci Code, Children of Men, Out of Africa, Selena, The Magdalene Sisters, North Country, Thelma and Louise, Erin Brockovich, Iron-Jawed Angels, Mona Lisa Smile, Terms of Endearment, Walk the Line, Vanilla Sky, Down with Love, Like Water for Chocolate, Officer and a Gentleman, On Golden Pond, When Harry Met Sally, When a Man Loves a Woman, The Brady Bunch Movie, A Very Brady Sequel, Lawn Dogs, Legally Blonde, Red White and Blonde, The Notebook, Sliding Doors, Memoirs of a Geisha, old movies like Pillow Talk and Foxfire, Laurel Canyon (there's a brief U2-related surprise in this one), and the 55+ movies (whether I've seen them or not yet) where U2 is on the soundtrack.

Television:

Fantasize about following the advice of the bumpersticker "KILL YOUR TELEVISION" (which should probably now say "kill your computer") so I try to keep regular TV to a minimum. Dislike even having cable but have to have it for anything U2. Mute commercials and watch with low volume: Sex and the City reruns, music videos (when I can find them), and self-help programs on public television. For some reason drawn to big "family" shows at times (Family Feud, Supernanny, and reruns of Three's Company, Full House, Good Times, and The Brady Bunch). Watched The Young And The Restless for years but stopped since a videotape lodged in my VCR in early 2005--blessing in disguise. Watched marathons of Laguna Beach (after 90210, Melrose Place, and The O.C., I became somewhat obsessed with SoCal youth), so I'm addicted to The Hills. Where are the reruns!? Still watching Nip/Tuck but not faithfully. Also like My Fair Brady.
