Playing Bass for U2, Running, Traveling
FAV ADAM QUOTES (send in your own to my message box :-D )
Adam Clayton:I'd just be happy to be remembered. I think in this day and age, where everything is so disposable, if people were to add U2 or me to a list of things worth remembering, than that's about as good as it gets.
Adam Clayton:But the best thing really is that I get to hang out with three friends and musicians. And if I get stuck, in whatever way, I've got three guys who are willing and able to help. That's a great thing.
ADAM:Look guys I got a Springfield spoon for my spoon collection......
...if I didnt have my spoons I'd go insane Adam on Simpsons

Letter about U2 where does one begin? How about at ONEI had always been a fan of U2, not the scary kind that can rattle off favourite colours, birthdates and names of spouses and such, but a fan of the music. It wasn't until the song 'One' was a single from the Actung Baby album in the early nineties that I stood up and took notice of my passion for this band. This is one of my favourite songs, the song that has come to be known as the glue that held U2 together, and for that alone makes it a fave. But ask me what gives me shivers and goose bumps all over my body with the first strum of a guitar, and my answer would be 'I Will Follow'. Even thinking about that piece of musical genius just gave me the chills. Its a reaction song, one that as soon as I hear it I freeze to listen or jump out of my seat to raise the volume. I love this song!I couldn't possibly choose a single member as a favourite. I've had my loving Larry phase, drool for Adam, adoration for the Edge, and lust for Bono over the past 18 years that I've been listening to the band. So today, I appreciate each of them, as individuals for their roles in the band.My go-to CD by U2 would have to be 'The Best of 1990 - 2000' (including the b-sides), a collection that captures the most diverse years of the group and my late teen, early adulthood moments. The disc that is played at 2 am after too many pints of beer is 'Rattle & Hum'we all sound like Bono on top of our lungs! And when nothing seems to be going my way, I dust off my copy of 'Under a Blood Red Sky'just to hear the crowd chant along, to be part of a moment, like a rising of something great.I play each of my U2 DVD's equally, they all offer a different experience, the fire and passion of U2 in America (Rattle & Hum), the anthology of videos from the Singles, the live experience of U2 Go Home, Vertigo & Elevation takes me back to the concerts.So what's so special about the greatest band on earth? Well, just thatarguing with friends of how U2's staying power out shines any other musical group. The live shows, the touching lyrics, the fantastic rhythms, the soundtrack to my life. And the best part ismy son who is now ten years old has been a fan since 2001 when he discovered a copy of my 'All That You Can't Leave Behind' and claimed it for himself. Imagine my surprise and swollen heart to hear a 6 year old singing 'Stuck In A Moment' in the back seat of my car. It was my greatest gift to my son to take him to his first concert last year - U2 was the headling act.How do I really feel about U2? I just feel ALIVE.Melaney

//Hello//Hello// Adam,
U2 is amazing. There is no group that could put out the quality of song that they have currntly in existance. Their songs are moving and well- preformed. My favorite songs by U2 are Running to Stand Still, Pride (In the Name of Love), Sunday Bloody Sunday, Zoo Station, Electric Co, One Tree Hill, Peace on Earth, Walk On, Elevation, Angel of Harlem (thats my display name), One, Vertigo, Yahweh, and Original of the Species. The CD's that I like the best are War, The Joshua Tree, All That You Can't Leave Behind, and How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. My favorite member is Larry Mullen Jnr, just because he is the greatest drummer in all history and I respect him for that because I have recently begun drumming and realise how hard it is. My favorite DVD is the U2- Live from Chicago DVD for the Vertigo tour. I like this one because a) It has my favorite songs and b) it is one of their best performances. Special things about U2, other than the obvious, is that they have continuously made songs that are not only great but also meaningful, something not often found in modern music. U2 does not spend their time whining about lost loves or complaining about the way they were raised. Most bands today churn out songs that merely state supposed problems in the lead singer's life, where really they live in a Beverly Hills mansion. U2's songs are nothing so flippant. They write about things that are important. Sunday Bloody Sunday and Pride (In the Name of Love) are excellent examples of this. Another special thing about U2 is their relevance. My grandmother (yes, the one with white hair!) is a huge fan of U2, as are my mom, my dad, and myself. Finally, I hav e to get this out: How can U2 not be great? They had a giant lemon as part of one tour! How great is that!Well, thanks for listening. I hope that you add me to your top 8, because I would be very grateful.
