About Me

Recovering Professional Musicians (RPM) is a grassroots support and referral service for musicians who want to do something about a drug or alcohol problem. It is no secret that musicians have very high rates of substance abuse issues, and RPM is there to offer guidance when it's time to make serious and difficult changes.RPM is not affiliated with any other association, program or service and does not endorse any specific recovery program or model. Some of us have become drug and alcohol free through various 12 step programs, others have learned to make serious changes in their behaviors, and still others have found answers in therapy. We strongly support whatever path you choose to take, and are here to offer our support and encouragement.RPM was created in 2004 By Dr. Jon Epstein and Jim Sikler to attempt to address the needs of recovering musicians after the discontinuation of the Musicians Assistance Program following the death of that programs founder jazz legend Buddy Arnold.
