We chose Heifer because we believe in their concept. Rather than provide a family with a cup of milk, they are provided with a cow, a goat, or another livestock gift which gives them a sustainable source of food and income rather than a short term fix. Families are also provided training in farming and community development. Each family that receives assistance “passes on the gift†of one or more of the animal’s offspring to another family in need.
