About Me

Female~~Adopted. My out for denying my family's insanity!
Passed my best genes onto my five kids....
Work for a Living because I like living indoors~~
Gotta get a Life~~ Don't wanna grow old~~
Don't like the alternative

What would life be like without music?

My "Ironic" story.. Back when I was 'newly single' I rode the bus everywhere.
One of the stops picked up blind students on the way to the blind academy.
... they were funny.
They referred to themselves as "blinkies"
and the blind guy in the wheelchair as a "roller-blinky"
And they recited the words to "Ironic" as we rode along our route.
Every time I hear this song I think of them... good times in bad times ;-)

My Interests

I love art, photography, lots of different kinds of music. Sports (volleyball, football & of course roller derby!)
I love keeping in touch with friends, old and new.
Simple pleasures.. a good cup of coffee & conversation, sunsets, fragrance of flowers or rain on the breeze, thunderstorms, fresh cut grass; good friends, belly laughs, helping each other out...
Putting things back in my life that got dropped out for whatever reason...
Putting the joy back in...

I'd like to meet:

"There isn’t much better in this life than finding a way to spend a few hours in conversation with people you respect and love. You have to carve this time out of your life because you aren’t really living without it."

I have met interesting people from all walks of life...
from astronauts (see my blog) to anthropologists
and actors to inventors and presidents
...and my favorite~ family and friends....
I love to find out how other people think and live...
Have I met you yet?

Music:

Music is very powerful. It can take you back in time. It can heighten your awareness of social issues. It can make you laugh, dance, cry. What would life be like without music?

Here's SUNN "Take It Easy"...

Movies:

I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy. One of my all time favorites is Princess Bride. If I were to chose an actress that would play me in a movie it would be Sandra Bullock (lol) she's my kind of crazy.

Television:

I can't seem to sit still through a TV show... I love Letterman.. Craig Ferguson too (interview shows are interesting to me). What does captivate my attention are usually documentaries or nature shows. But I am fascinated by PimP My Ride! LOL Oh and Extreme Home Makeovers... (I'm expecting them to come over and tear my house down any minute!) and CSI (all of them) ~modern day Sherlock Holmes!

Books:

Currently I'm reading "Scarlett" again.

I have to admit she is my guilty pleasure & in this one she goes to Ireland so I get to read about my Irish roots in the bargain.
I love mysteries... but I have to admit I haven't read as much lately as I'd like.

Heroes:

Everyday people making a difference. Those who really spearhead a change in society for the better. Or are good examples of how to live your convictions. Along those lines you may not know the names of the everyday heros....unless they impact your life personally. I am lucky enough to have a few heroes in my life.

I greatly admire Princess Diana; she broke a lot of barriers and a lot of tabu's in her charity work. Holding babies with AIDS, bringing attention to the dangers of land mines, showing compassion to all she met. She was a great lady.

Here's SUNN with "Drug of Choice" (warning: hot video ~;^D)
