I think my favorite author just might be Sherman Alexie. If you like sad, funny short stories read his. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Anything by Tim Sandlin and Jeffrey Eugenides, Harriet the Spy (GREATEST KIDS BOOK EVER!), Nickel and Dimed and other books about poverty/working class issues, Devil's Knot--Read it. You won't regret it, I promise. Yes, sometimes I like a good fluff book like Bridget Jones every now and again. The World According to Garp, and I also like books about American Culture. I've also been really into historical fictions about Tudor England lately. Which is good for trivia nights because now I know all seven of Henry the VIII's wives.
