About Me

"Singer/Pianist: J. R. ROCKEFELLER"

Currently, J. R. Rockefeller is sitting on top of the world. Firstly, he is Founder and C.E.O. of DreamCast Entertainment, a rapidly growing record label/artist promotional company. Secondly, returning back home to the Big Apple from Exchange Place, Jersey City, he runs and operates his business at a very prestigious Manhattan office located inside Rockefeller Center complex.
J. R. Rockefeller’s overall message to the world is very clear: "The Best Revenge is Success." He uses his life struggle, which he defines as his greatest strength, to overcome and achieve his goals. His future seems extremely bright. "What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger. When I fall, I simply get up; dust myself up then try again. Failure is never an option."
In short, J. R. Rockefeller seems to enjoy mastering challenging projects that people (whom he refers to as HATERS) wouldn’t expect him to accomplish. Tenacity, he proclaims, is the key to anyone’s success. "You’d be surprise how far being tenacious can take you."
This self-contained singer, pianist, songwriter, arranger and producer, is taking everyone by storm with his breathtakingly beautiful ballad, “The Believer.” In addition, without any type of promotion, his track “Love Is” made 1 on the top 10 most requested song on the radio, and the same track stayed on the top 30 in France for over 3 Months. Lastly, his track, entitled, V.I.P. (a tribute to Tupac and Biggie), ranked 5 of 5 on MP3.com. J. R. Rockefeller is an extremely rare artist, who possesses a youthful energetic style of music he calls "songspirational” or often “soulspiration."

"If you can’t feel it, don’t bother singing it."

J. R. Rockefeller grew up singing in his local church choir in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, New York. Oblivious to his entire family, the free-spirited young "believer" secretly received private music and acting lessons, traveling enthusiastically to the uppity east side of Manhattan. He acted and sang in front of many, yet no one in his family knew. "I’ve always been very private. Andrew, my former limo driver’s favorite words to me were ’who are you?’ I always have multiple things going on all at once. I just get a real kick out of shocking people. Never let them see you coming. Oh, and always pretend you’re dumb. And if anyone wants me to accomplish anything, just doubt me, or say I can’t do. People who doubt me only motivate me to succeed."

"EXECUTIVE MOVIE PRODUCER"

J. R. Rockefeller actually started out acting. He was accepted to several topnotch acting schools in New York, and has written and performed many successful plays. He presently has several motion picture projects on the table, and a DVD project, entitled, The Making of a CEO, scheduled to be released in 2008. The sky is the limit for this multi-talented young man.In 2000, J. R. Rockefeller took the role of Executive Producer of a movie, entitled, One Punch, which featured Evander Holyfield, Coco from SWV, Michael Grant, and many more. "I was at a Wyclef Jean’s birthday party, and I was introduced to the script writer of One Punch and before I knew it, I was Executive Producer. Truth be told, I had no idea what an Executive Producer does. The title "Executive Producer" just sounded so damn good, I figured ’what the hell.’ My pocket learned the role of an executive producer very quickly though. Evander Holifield, Michael Grant, and Coco were a real blast to work with. And even though One Punch hasn’t been released yet, I had the time of my life."

TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS REQUIRED
Living by his motto “To Whom Much is Given, Much is required, J. R. Rockefeller is the Founder and sole sponsor of Project Exposure (www.myspace.com/projectexposure777), where every month, he takes 7 disadvantage youths; surprising each one of them by picking them up in a super stretch H2 Hummer limo; he then takes them to his Rockefeller Center office boardroom, exposing them to the corporate world, while having a power lunch meeting. During their talk session, J. R. personally goes over his 12 step character building and success program for youths.

"The motto to my charity ‘Project Exposure’ is a statement I truly live by for years now. I always look forward each Month to expose the next bunch of kids to positive corporate environments. I wake up smiling and excited. The happiest days of my life are always during Project Exposure. I find giving back to kids extremely rewarding. They appreciate it more. I don’t care how busy I get, I’ll always make time for Project Exposure. In fact, The best get rich quick scheme to me is giving. Think about it.”

J. R. Rockefeller has a very unique relationship with his fans. His fans are not just fans of his music. They truly connect with his down-to-earth personality and good-heartedness. Overall, he seems to be able to relate in a more personal level with his fans. As a result, his supporters in the USA and overseas show him a lot of love. In fact, J. R. Rockefeller was able to sell an unprecedented 20,000 copies of his dvd/cd combo, entitled, The Making of a CEO, without the help of national distribution, retail management, nor in-store support. “I sold 20,000 copies by extorting friends and family members, forcing them to support my dvd/cd combo. No is never an option.” More importantly, all proceeds from the sell of his dvd/cd combo will go to his charity organization: Project Exposure.
It is worth mentioning that although The Making of a CEO dvd/cd combo won’t be official released until the middle of 2008, the Grammy’s office is already reviewing J. R. Rockefeller’s work, and rumor has it that J. R. Rockefeller will be nominated for best new R&B artist for 2009.
J. R. Rockefeller’s upcoming single and DVD, entitled, "Come In to My World," due to be released next spring, is already a favorite among the ladies. His track “Come in to my World” is the smoothest R&B we’ve heard in a very long time. In addition, he currently has a book deal, The Daniel Diet, which is scheduled for release in 2008. As a result, J. R. Rockefeller is hitting the Reebok Sport’s Club/New York hard, working out to get ready for his upcoming projects. "Gotta get my mind right."
J. R. Rockefeller, at the tender age of 22, started from ground up, his own multi-million dollar Real Estate Investment firm, on the 80th floor, Tower I, of the World Trade Center, New York. "You have to take chances in life." The successful and versatile entrepreneur has over 10 years experience in the work force, as a Private Investor; Executive Movie Producer; Book Publisher; Record Label and coming real soon on his plate is a "prevogative" VIP clothing line.
Music, however, seems to be J.R. Rockefeller’s true passion. "Making money was the center of my life and I was miserable. I made a lot of money way too young. The pressure of the typical ‘blarney-leeche’ hanging around for the free drinks, 24hr limo ride, and eating out- sorta drove me to get even more wasted. I was really depressed and unhappy."
MUSIC SAVED MY LIFE
J. R. Rockefeller’s love for music put a stop to his self-destructive lifestyle. He admits that "I would kill 2 bottles of red wine at home before noon, which immediately followed by a bottle of Veuve Cliquot in the back of the limo (just to start my day). I had three cars I hardly ever drove in exchange for drinking. I was killing my voice and my creativity was bottled up. Music saved my life in a big way. Find your passion- whatever it may be- and I guarantee you that You will excel and prosper beyond belief."
VERSATILITY IS PRICELESS
Nowadays it’s all about a handful of friends, vocal and, of course, spiritual health for this multi-talented artist. "I had to get my mind right." With a double major, (Media Arts and Music) this (dean’s list) Long Island University student has had an unbelievable passion for studying various elements of music, from classical to the ever-growing world of Hip Hop. "I grew up listening to old school Hip Hop. It’s so funny because in my old bandroom, we had hardcore rappers who loved Beethoven, and would play a Scott Joplin piece like it was nothing. Versatility is priceless. That’s what I love so much about music, that is, it breaks all barriers and misconceptions. As they say, never judge a book by its cover. Music itself sees notes, and not anyone’s color."
The rain has gone away, and the sun is truly shinning down on J. R. Rockefeller. He’s living out his dreams and ambitions in a more meaningful way. His aim is to continue to give his listeners all of him through the purest quality of music that will continue to touch souls, that is to say, soulspirational music. He is working nonstop to release a unique sounding out-of-this-world album/dvd combo. "It’s rated LIFE! You’re gonna love it."

Why this name?
Since my label is located inside Rockefeller Center, Midtown Manhattan, it made sense to me, since I’m a tenant there to use the name Rockefeller. And although I’m wiser now, but in the past, I would blow some serious money every day, mostly on other people, and people gave me the nick name Rockefeller: hence the name J. R. Rockefeller. A better question is: Where the hell are the free-loaders now?
Do you play live, and have you ever had a special moment in your music career?
I do play live. My instrument of choice is the piano. I love it man. I always look forward to live performances. It’s like I’m sorta outta of body for a moment. And yes! One of my special moment was performing @ a retirement home, a favor to my uncle. I get there, no chair for the piano, the piano was 5 feet high, and the mic was really low. I love obstacles like that. I made the best with what I had, and the performance went pretty well. I don’t turn down performance favors for sick/disadvantage children nor retirement homes. The main reason why I’m breathing is so that I can give back."
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure!!! DreamCast Entertainment is great. We’re at a very prestigious office in mid-town manhattan. We take what we do extremely seriously, and we’ve spared no expenses, so that when we win, it’s always big! Signing to a major label would be a great marriage between DreamCast and that label. It just makes sense. I don’t want anyone to just "show me the money," but show me lots of money (lol)"
Anything else...?
It’s like this man: The Best Revenge is Success. I’ve seen over $10,000,000 in my early 20s, and haters went outta control. The backstabbers didn’t take very long to show their true colors. I tell people that I have no more holes left to stab me in. Bottom line is I had to wise up. I’m at a good place right now. I’m not doing music for money. I mean, I’ve made money and I was miserable...Finally I found something I love and I’m on top of the world right now!!!
